Aaliyah got back to her home from the library.

"I'm home" she said.

"Aaliyah, you're a bit late" said her mother.

"I was just helping a friend with homework" Aaliyah responded.

"A friend? One of those popular girls again?"

"No mom, another friend."

"Oh, so you're going out of the popular girl crowd."

"Yeah, I guess so."

"That's good. I always did say you should branch out."

Aaliyah went to her room and changed into her home clothes. She couldn't believe she was actually becoming friends with Angela Wang. Everyone knew her as the girl who didn't say much. She never speaks unless spoken to and she was almost always seen studying. Aaliyah had always wanted to get to know her better, and now was her chance. And they had a lot in common too! Who knew quiet Angela was a fan of Below Story? She wanted to talk to her about everything.

Aaliyah was one of the popular girls in her grade, therefore she often hung out with other popular girls. But they were all so different from her. Aaliyah never felt like she belonged with them.

Suddenly, her phone rang. Aaliyah picked it up.

"Aali, girl, where have you been" a voice said on the other side.

"Oh, hey Monica" Aaliyah said. "I was just helping a friend with homework."

"A friend? Did Hannah forget she had homework again?"

"No, no, I was helping another friend."

"Not from our group?"

"No."

"Oh, who's this mysterious friend."

"Angela Wang from the other class. She needed help with-"

"Angela Wang? That girl who never speaks? Wow... you know for a second I forgot we had someone named Angela Wang in our class, that's how invisible she is."

Liz laughed, and Aaliyah shared a forced laugh with her.

"So, you done with your homework genius?"

"Yeah, I finished it at the library."

"That's good because these Math problems are KILLING me. Mind if me and Hannah come over to your place so you can help?"

"Um, yeah, sure you can come. I'll inform my mom."

"GREAT! Thanks Aali, you're the best. We're gonna be there now. BYE!"

Liz hung up the phone. Aaliyah went downstairs to inform her mother.

"Mom, Monica and Hannah will be coming for homework help."

"Again? I swear those girls only come to you when they need homework help. Alright, I'll prepare some snacks."

Aaliyah went to her room to wait for them. After a while, there was a knock on the door. Mrs Taylor opened it. Two girls were standing outside. They were Monica and Hannah.

"Hello Mrs Taylor" Monica said.

"Welcome girls. Aaliyah, your friends have come."

Aaliyah went down to greet them.

"Aali, there you are girl" Monica said.

Monica and Hannah hugged her. Monica had blonde hair, pale skin, and blue eyes. She wore a jeans jacket and black pants.

"Thank you so much for agreeing to help us" said Hannah.

Hannah was brunette, she too had pale skin, brown eyes, and was wearing a white shirt, pink jacket and pink pants. Her hair was always tied in a ponytail.

"No problem. Lets go to my room and see what problems you have with your homework."

The three girls went to Aaliyah's room.

"So, I was having such a rough time with this math problem" Monica showed her homework to Aaliyah.

"Oh this? I taught Angela this too" Aaliyah said.

"Angela? Who's that?" asked Hannah.

"Oh, you know, the quiet girl. She's in our grade" Monica said.

"Ooooooh, that Angela" Hannah said.

"Hey, its okay, I forget she exists all the time. She's just that forgettable" said Monica. She and Hannah laughed.

"Hey, she can actually be pretty cool if you just talk to her" said Aaliyah. "Anyways, your homework."

"Huh? You actually talked to her?" Hannah asked.

"Yeah, we went to the library and studied together. I helped her with her homework."

"Oh, I didn't think she needed any help" said Monica. "After all she's always studying."

Aaliyah helped them with their homework. The girls thanked Aaliyah and were about to go home.

"Hey, Monica, Hannah, are you free this weekend?" asked Aaliyah.

"Yeah we are" Monica said.

"That's great. I was thinking, maybe we could do something together? We haven't done anything in ages and-"

"We'll see," said Hannah. "Anyways thanks for the help Aali."

Monica and Hannah waved Aaliyah goodbye and left.

Aaliyah went back to her room. She unlocked her phone and went to her texts. She thought of maybe texting Angela, before remembering that she never asked for her number. She had to remember that next time. She then went on her social media accounts. Her feed was the same as usual. She found out someone had followed her. It was Angela. Aaliyah clicked on her account and followed her back.
