The day of the outing soon arrives. Mr Wang dropped Angela off at the mall.
"Its so nice to see that you're finally making some friends" he commented.
"Yeah..." Angela replied.
"Alright, I'll be leaving now. Have fun with your friends."
Mr Wang waved Angela goodbye and went on his way.
Angela went inside the mall and just waited for Aaliyah and her friends. She looked around. The last time she had been there was when she was eight.
"Angela, over here!" Aaliyah called to her. Monica and Hannah were with her too. Angela went towards them.
"Hey girl, good to see that you made it," said Monica.
"Now that everyone's here, let's get started," said Hannah. "Where should we go first?"
"I heard there's a great bookstore here," said Angela. "I think we should check that out. There's something there I wanna see."
"Hahaha, how cute," said Monica. "We're not going to a boring bookstore."
"I actually agree with Angela," said Aaliyah.
"Oh.... well, maybe later. I hear there's a sale on jewelry here. We simply HAVE to see it" Monica insisted.
The girls went to the jewelry store. There was a crowd there due to the sale.
"Wow, everyone really wants some jewelry huh?" said Angela.
"Can you blame them? No one can resist a sale" said Monica.
She looked around the store.
"Oh my gosh, this is so good!" she said pointing at a pearl necklace. "I really want that."
Monica went to Angela.
"Angela, do you have any money on you?"
Angela looked into her purse.
"How much do you need?" she asked.
"Ten dollars would be enough," said Monica.
Angela gave her the money.
"Oh thank you. Now I have enough money. Anything you girls want?"
"I was thinking this looks good," Aaliyah pointed at a pair of emerald earrings.
"Those look beautiful, Aaliyah," said Angela.
"They do, don't they? I'd love them."
"Emeralds? Oh please, they won't look good on you. They'll look too bright" said Monica.
"But I like them," said Aaliyah.
"Oh no, but they're just too gaudy for you. What you need is something simple. Like this" Monica pointed to some pearl earrings.
"They're lovely but I like the emerald ones," said Aaliyah.
"Come on, I know what's best for you guys" said Monica. "You trust me, right?"
There was a pause.
"Yeah Monica, I trust you" said Aaliyah.
"Alright then. Angela, Hannah, what do you guys like?"
"Uh, all the jewelry's lovely but I'm not interested in buying these" said Angela.
"Same here" said Hannah.
The girls made their purchases and went from the store.
"See. What did I tell you? I know what's best for you guys" said Monica.
They walked until they reached the cinema.
"Ooh, hey should we watch a movie?" asked Hannah.
"Great idea, Hannah," said Monica. "
"I heard Studio Flourish has a new movie out" said Aaliyah. "We could watch that."
"Studio Flourish? Oh please, all their movies are so predictable" said Monica.
"But they're pretty charming" said Aaliyah.
"Oh, I heard there's this popular movie called Girl of the Sea. Lets go for that one" said Monica.
"Well..." Aaliyah began.
"Any objections?"
Monica looked at the group sharply.
"Absolutely not, Monica" said Hannah.
"Yeah, you're the boss" said Aaliyah.
"Good. Then lets go for it."
As they were walking towards the movie, Angela stood behind Aaliyah.
"Geez, Monica really likes to be in control of everything, huh?" she whispered.
"She's always been that way," said Aaliyah. "If things don't go her way, she'll go crazy."
The girls paid for the movie and their popcorn and sat down for the movie.
Soon, it was finished. They came out of the movie theatre.
"That was actually pretty good" said Angela.
"Yeah, the characters were really fun and the twist caught me off guard" said Aaliyah.
"See? Don't I always know best?" asked Monica.
"You sure do Monica" said Hannah.
The girls spent some more time in the mall before parting ways.
"Man, today was just so good" said Monica.
"Yeah, it was" said Angela.
"Goodbye girls. See you in school" said Monica.
"Goodbye Monica" Aaliyah waved goodbye to her.
"You wanna walk home together?" asked Aaliyah.
"Yeah sure," said Angela.
"So, how was today?" asked Aaliyah.
"It was pretty good," said Angela. "Wish Monica took our opinions into consideration though."
"Yeah, she's like that," said Aaliyah. "It's a miracle if she listens to either of us."
Angela soon reached her home.
"See you tomorrow Angela," said Aaliyah.
"You too" said Angela.
