Chapter seventeen: Tornado dude.

M'gann decided to give me a private tour of the mansion. I really enjoyed it because I didn't have to walk, she lifted me in the air using telekinesis. Isn't she great? So after that she wanted take some cookies, but, I told her that I had no idea how to bake cookies so, I'd watch her and pick up a few things. She baked a lot of cookies. Then as we were going to check on Superboy the zeta tubes announced Kal's arrival, thirty extremely awkward minutes later of me just sitting there quietly while M'gann and Kal make small talk, Robin and Kid Flash came too. Robin asked excitedly, "Have you asked him yet?" Kid Flash asked, "Yeah, what did he say?" Oh, they must have been referring to my idea yesterday night. I said, "We haven't even seen him." Kaldur said, "He's arriving right now." Kid Flash asked, "Then what are we waiting for? Let's go ask him." He sped up to the hangar doors. Aqualad, Megan and Superboy followed him.

I really didn't feel like leaving the chair though. Robin asked, "Aren't you coming." I said, "This chair is really comfortable." He rolled his eyes at me and said, "You're coming with us." He got my hand and tried to pull me up. I whined and resisted but he ended up pulling me too hard and so I knocked into him almost knocking us down but he steadily caught me. Leaving us in a, I don't know, slow dance position (does it count as a slow dance position if his hands are on your waist and yours are on his chest). We were staring into each others eyes, well, I was looking at dark sunglasses. His heart was beating fast and, well, this was getting awkward. I said, "You have convinced me, I'll go with you to ask Red Tornado to give us a mission." I then got his hand and dragged him across to quickly catch up to the others. Well, we arrived at the same time Tornado landed so, we didn't miss anything.

Red Tornado said, "Greetings. Is there a reason you intercept me outside of the cave?" Aqualad said, "We hoped you had a mission for us." Red Tornado replied, "Mission assignments are the Batman's responsibility." Robin said, "But it's been over a week!" Red Tornado said, "You'll be tested soon enough. In the meantime, simply enjoy each other's company." Kid Flash said, "This team is not a social club." Red Tornado replied, "But I've been told that social interactions are an important team building exercise, perhaps you can keep busy by farmiliarizing yourselves with the cave." He walked inside the cave going to do whatever it is Machines do. Robin said while quoting from the conversation with Speedy last night, "Keep busy." Kid Flash asked, "Does he think we're falling for this?" Miss Martian said, "Oh, I'll find out!"

She concentrated on Red Tornado and after a moment she said, "Sorry, I forgot he is a machine. He's inorganic. I cannot read his mind." Kid Flash said while trying to flirt with Miss Martian, "Nice try though. Do you know what I'm thinking right now?" Robin elbowed Kid Flash and said, "We all know what your thinking right now." Miss Martian said, "Superboy and I can play tour guide. We live here." Kal said, "And now we tour the clubhouse." We looked at them and Superboy said shyly, "Don't look at me." Kid Flash said, "Don't worry, we won't. The private tour is much more fun." Robin said while getting all defensive, "She never said private." Why does he even care whether it's private or not? I suddenly remembered the cookies that M'gann was baking. I said, "I'll have to pass, there's something I have to do." As I was walking to the kitchen, Kal held my wrist and said, "Team building, we'll all go."

I quickly pulled my wrist out of his grasp and said, "Sure, I'll tag along." I got a wipe from my jacket and passed it over my wrist. I hate people touching me. Especially people I've known for less than a month. I glared at my wrist and cleaned it again. His hands were cold. Nope, do not think about it. Do not think about it. Miss Martian begins the tour rather awkwardly after that. But, I wasn't really paying attention to the tour. Just walking quietly in the back and crossing my hands over my chest. I barely heard anything anyone was saying since I was busy trying to not get any flashbacks. I zoomed back in when Miss Martian went to get the cookies. That were burnt. Right, I was going to get them out of the oven before. How could I have forgotten? Suddenly, I heard M'gann's extremely loud voice in my head.
