Aura's pov

When I woke up I still felt exhausted. I couldn't lift my head. My eyelids feel heavy causing me to keep them closed. I take a deep breath and open my eyes. I look around the room. Maddox was towards the end of the hospital bed. He was sleeping with his head on my lap. I bring my hand up looking at it. I was no longer in my wolf form causing me to let out a breath of relief.

"Aria?" I call out to her. "Yeah?" she answered back quickly. "What happened?" I asked looking back at Maddox.

Maddox's hair wasn't in a bun or ponytail. His hair sprawled out across his face as he slept. A smile takes place on my face. I run my hand through his hair. Maddox snuggled into my legs as I continued to run my hand through his hair.

"You accepted mate as yours fully. When he kissed us we became stronger causing a force shift to happen because I was overly excited sorry." Aria says. "I thought you said it wasn't you?" I questioned causing her to stumble on her words. "Well. Alright, I'll tell you the truth. you have been asleep for a week. I could hear everything they were talking about. So you remember that student of yours that was obsessed with you?" She asked.

"Yeah well, apparently his mate wasn't that happy about it, obviously. So she found a witch that cursed you. She did it before we found our mate. The witch cursed us so that if we ever kissed our mate we would force shift and we wouldn't be able to shift back to your human form. We would stay a wolf until we died so her mate wouldn't want you anymore. The witch gave her an orb. The orb would light up when we finally kissed our mate and it would lead her to us where she would then try to kill us. But since we were here she was caught in the act while talking out loud her plan to us like we were listening. We have a witch mated to one of our pack members so she reversed the curse and Maddox killed the girl" Aria spills.

My head started to hurt with this new information. Someone was out to kill me!? Wow. My eyes shifted to Maddox who was shifting on the bed. He stayed with me through this whole thing. His eyes opened when my hand stopped running through his hair. He glanced up at me, giving me a bright smile. I smiled down at him while running my hand through his hair once more.

"How are you feeling?" Maddox questioned. I take my hand out of his hair and Maddox sits up looking at me. My eyes scan Maddox's face stopping on his lips before I look him in the eyes.

"I feel good. A little exhausted but that will go away in a few weeks," I say while looking at the door when the doctor walks in.

"Hey Luna, you can leave if you're feeling better," She says, smiling at me. I nod my head.

"If you don't have any questions you can leave" she waited for me to ask any questions when I didn't answer she sent me another smile and walked out the door.

"Are you ready to go?" Maddox asked, bringing my attention back to him.

I want to go see Kailani before going home," I say Maddox nods his head before getting off the bed and waiting for me to stand. I place my feet on the ground and stand up. Maddox wraps his hand around my waist to keep me from falling.

"Are you sure you can walk?" Maddox stammered. I look up at him shaking my head. He walks in front of me and bends down. I get on his back before he stands up and walks out of the hospital.

Maddox takes me to the packhouse. He climbs the stairs up to the betas floor. I see Lexie and Kailani sitting on the couch. Kailani was laying on Lexie's legs as they watched a movie.

Lexie snaps her head over when she hears Maddox walk in. A few seconds later Kailani pokes her head up looking at me. A huge smile makes its way onto her face when she sees me. I send her a smile back.

"How are you doing, Luna?" Lexie asked, turning the tv off.

"I'm just a little tired but other than that I'm fine," I say, climbing off Maddox's back and sitting down on the couch. Kailani gets off of Lexie and snuggles up into my side hugging me.

"We'll be downstairs if you need anything let me know," Maddox says, placing a kiss on my forehead.

"So you and Maddox finally kissed," Lani states. I roll my eyes leaning my head on hers.

"Yeah, I wouldn't really call it a kiss, it was more like a peck on the lips" Lani laughs before pulling away from me. She gave me a look.

"If you weren't cursed would you have let him kiss you for longer?" She asked, I glanced over at her, my cheeks heating up.

"Yeah, I would have. I'm the one who initiated the kiss" I mutter looking away. "I'm actually thinking about letting Maddox mark me" Lani jumps up from the couch.

"How are you just gonna say that to me casually when you didn't even want to rush into things like kissing a week ago!?" Lani whispers a huge grin on her face.

"I don't know Maddox has been patient and I just think I'm ready for the next step in our relationship" I grin watching Lani pace in excitement.

"Wow, I never thought this would happen. You were so against having a mate and now you want to be marked. When are you gonna let him mark you? Are you gonna mark him?" She asked, sitting down next to me.

"Yes I'm gonna mark him. I was thinking of letting him mark me tonight but after I marked him first," I say, causing Lani to be excited again.

"Oh gosh, I'm happy for you and support you taking the next step in your relationship with your mate" Lani squealed happily.
