Aura's Pov

Over the next week I gathered the elementals from my old pack and the new ones they work with. Blaze did the same. They all stayed in tents in camps all around the pack territory. There was going to be too many to house in the pack house so we all came to an agreement that everyone would camp out wherever they wanted on our land.

"How are you and that mate of yours working out? Are you still rejecting him?" Seraphina asked. I raised an eyebrow at her.

"I wasn't aware you were keeping up with my relationship with my mate" I say. Seraphina scoffed while crossing her arms over her chest.

"I'm not, I was just wondering if he gave up on you or not" Seraphina smirked. I smile at her before shaking my head.

"It seems to me like you're invested in our relationship. Is yours not working? Does your mate not want you?" I asked. Seraphina's smirk dropped and her eyes narrowed at me in anger. My head whips to the side when Seraphina punches me. The room full of my pack froze before they jumped up.

"If I was your mate Seraphina, I wouldn't want you either" I mutter. Seraphina was going to strike me again but Maddox walked in.

"What is going on here?" He asked. His arms wrapped around my waist and kissed the top of my head. Seraphina looked at where his arm was before looking in my eyes. I gave her a smile.

"To answer your earlier questions no I didn't reject him and we're great" I say before grabbing Maddox's hand and pulling him with me to the living room.

"What was that about?" he asked. I shrug my shoulders. Maddox grabbed my chin lightly before he was looking at my cheek. "Did she fucking hit you?"

"Yeah, I said something that she didn't like," I say, taking my face from his hand.

"That doesn't give her an excuse to put her hands on you, Aura!" Maddox shouts, a glare on his face. My eyes widened. I take a step back from him.

"I know that" I state softly. Maddox's face softens.

"I didn't mean to yell at you, Aura. I'm mad at her. put her hands on you and hurt you" Maddox wrapped his arms around me and kissed my cheek. He lets me go before walking back into the dinning room. My ears pick on the sound of someone being slammed into the wall. My eyes widen before I rush into the dining room.

Maddox has Seraphina pinned to the wall by her neck. She clawed at his hands trying to remove it from her neck.

"Don't you ever put your hands on my mate again!" Maddox says angrily. I walk over to Maddox. My hand touched his shoulder blade.

"Let her go, Maddox," I said. Maddox tensed under my touch.

"No. She doesn't get to come on your land and hit you" He grits. I let out a sigh before jumping on his back. My legs wrapped around his waist. My head goes into his neck. I place a kiss on my mark. My lips go to his ear.

"Come on, let her go. So we can go on a run" I say. Maddox let Seraphina go. She took in a huge breath of air. She coughed a few times before holding her neck.

"I want you off this land!" Maddox commands before walking out of the room. When we get outside I jump off his back. I take my clothes off and shift. Maddox shifted as well. We pick our clothes up in our mouths before we run towards the woods. The wind nipped at my fur as we ran.

As we ran through the woods we took a trail. It was cleared for people to take a walk through the woods without climbing over sticks, rocks, trees and leaves. Maddox and I stopped running when we came to the clearing. In this clearing was a park for young pack members. There were a few playsets scattered around the area. In the center of the field was a large Willow tree. The sweeping branches moved in the wind. Hanging from one of the larger branches was a swing. Maddox and I shifted back and changed into our clothes before we sat down.

There were a few kids playing on the playset. They were chasing one another around. I look over at Maddox. He sat there watching me with his head tilted to the side. I lean into his side. I sat there for a little while liking the feeling of the sparks his body gave off. Without a second thought I push Maddox down before running away. I ran through the center of the clearing.

My body dodged little kids as they ran out in front of me. Maddox shouted after me. My laugh filled the air as I continued to run away from him. An arm wrapped around my waist causing me to stop running. I turn around smiling at Maddox. His eyes roamed over my face with a smile. His hand cupped my face as he shook his head.

"Not once in my life has someone ever had the guts to push me to the ground" Maddox says. I let out a light laugh.

"I figured since I did it, it would be alright" I mutter. Maddox raised an eyebrow at me.

"Why?"

"Because I love you and believe it or not I did it out of love" I chuckle. Maddox rolled his eyes. I peck his lips before grabbing his hand and lacing your fingers together. Maddox and I walk back to the pack house. I was starving. Before Seraphina interrupted me I was getting something to eat.
