Aura's pov

Maddox got us to the packhouse at the correct time of the meeting. Wow, who would have thought all this time I just needed him to be there for me to make sure I wasn't late. No stop thinking like that I don't need or want him. Maddox led me to his office. I opened the door and Kailani and another guy stood in the room. The guy was the same height as me and had black hair that had a red and orange ombre at the tips. He is definitely living up to the fire element and I am living for it. The dyed tips make him look badass.

"Aura your on time!" Kailani screeched happily. I give her a smile and a small laugh. Kailani gives me a giggle as she sits down at the small circular table in one corner of the office. Maddox was right this room is safe enough to have a small meeting. The walls are soundproof.

"Yes, I am. I think Maddox has a thing with being on time" I whisper the last part to her.

"Yes, I do Aura. And just to let you know we can hear you even though you're whispering" Maddox says smirking.

"Right anyway so I found Blaze as you asked me to," Kailani says with a huge smile. I give her a weird look.

"Why are you so happy about that?" I ask sitting down across from Kailani. Blaze sat down next to Kailani and Maddox sat down next to me.

"Because I did it with no help and it didn't take too long" I looked at Kailani and she seemed excited about it. I have no idea why but it made her happy.

"Ok anyways you wanted to talk," Blaze says jumping in the conversation before we started talking again.

"Um yeah," I sent Kailani a look to remind me why I wanted to talk. "The voice we heard earlier," She says laughing through the link. "Right we wanted to know if you heard the voice as well," I say, judging by the look on Blaze's face he has no idea what I'm talking about.

"I'm sorry but I didn't hear a voice" Blaze answered sending Maddox a concerning look. My head turns to the fireplace as it starts to crackle and pop. The fireplace goes up in flames causing Maddox to jump up and stand in front of me.

"What the hell is going on!?" Maddox commands for someone to answer. Blaze was looking into the fire. After a few seconds, the fire went out.

"Judging by your face you just heard the voice," Kailani says with a smirk. I place my hand on Maddox's hand. Maddox looks at me, his eyes going back to his original amber eyes.

"The fire is gone you can sit down now," I say letting go of his hand so he could sit down. After Maddox sat down he took my hand again. I let him have my hand so he can calm down further.

"So what do we do about it?" Blaze asked looking at everyone at the table. Maddox was too busy playing with my fingers to say anything.

"We don't have much to do but we do know that it is only connected to the elements. I will get a hold of a friend and find out what is going on and we will figure it out from there. I guess I would stay close to your element and see if you can hear the voice again and if you do, don't keep it to yourself. That's all for now. You can leave now. It was nice meeting you Blaze" I say getting up causing Maddox to jump up as well. He continued to hold my hand.

"It was a pleasure meeting you, Luna," Blaze gave me a little bow before he walked out of the office. Kailani smiled at me as she walked out of the room too. Now it was just Maddox and I standing in the room. I slowly take my hand from his and walk to the door.

"You coming?" I ask looking back at him. Maddox looks at me before following behind me. I walked down the hall that was covered in pictures. The whole wall was covered in what I'm guessing is the King family. There was an older couple, mostly likely Maddox's grandparents. Then a guy and a woman who I'm guessing is Maddox's mom and dad. Then there's Maddox and Owen.

"Alright, you ready to see your new home?" Maddox asked, taking my hand and taking the lead. Maddox walked out of the house and we walked towards the car. Maddox opened the door.

"Thanks" I mutter, sending him a genuine smile. Maddox nods his head as a 'you welcome'. I watch Maddox walk in front of the car as he walks to the driver's side of the car. He was cute after I pushed the whole not wanting a mate thing to the side. Maddox gets into the car. I narrow my eyes at myself. No, I don't need to be thinking about him like that. I don't want him or need him. A mate just reminds me that I'm not human. Letting out a quiet breath I lean my head on the back of my seat. I look out the window

"Mate isn't as bad as you think he is. You don't want to be just a human. That makes you weak. You would not have the ability to talk to me or to shift into a wolf and I know you don't hate being a werewolf as much as you think. If you really did hate being a wolf and wanted to have nothing to do with wolves you wouldn't be in a pack and you wouldn't shift" Aria growls out.

"Aria I don't mean it like that" I sigh when I notice she put up her wall. She is right, I love talking to her and I rarely put up my wall to block her out because she is a part of me. She hears everything I think and I didn't realize how much it hurt her when I would think about being just human. Being human would mean I wouldn't have her. Aria is always there for me and there isn't a way to get rid of her. But I just want to be normal. I don't want to be the freak who can shift into a freaking wolf. If Aria is enraged then she can force me to shift and I don't want to be the one who has all the power in the human world. The humans around the old pack were able to anger Aria easily.

One day a human was testing Aria's authority and Aria forced me to shift. I couldn't fight Aria for control back. I was stuck in the back of my mind blacked out for hours. Alpha billy had knocked her out and I finally got control back. But I woke up surrounded by a store full of dead humans. Aria had gone on a killing spree while in wolf form. This is why I just want to be human to not have all this supernatural power.

I don't want to have the power to be able to take down a whole town of humans. They were innocent and I killed them all because I have this luna wolf living inside my body.

Maddox nudged my arm causing me to snap out of my thoughts. He stood next to me with my door open. Maddox gave me a worried look.

"You ok? I've been trying to get your attention for a few minutes now" Maddox says placing his hand on my cheek as I did to him in the library at my old pack. I nod my head leaning a little into his hand.

"Come on," Maddox says, walking to the back of the car. He grabbed my bags leaving me the two he left for me to carry earlier. I follow Maddox in the dark blue two-story house. The house wasn't big, it was a good size to hold a medium family. I guess that's what Maddox was thinking about when getting this house.

"So I'm guessing you will want your own room, correct?" Maddox asked, barely looking at me as we walked up the stairs.

"Uh yeah," I mutter. Maddox turned left and we came to the end of the hallway. Maddox opened the door to the right and placed my luggage down next to the door. I place the bags down. I look over the room. My eyes take in the light color scheme. The walls were a light grey. The wood floor was dark wood and there was a grey rug that surrounded the bed. The bedsheets were light blue. The window curtains match the bedding. The room was cozy which brought a smile to my face.

"My room is right across the hall if you need anything" Maddox grumbles before walking out and shutting the door behind him. I turn around and look at the door where Maddox had left. Maybe I should have asked if I could stay in his room. No! What am I thinking? I just met the guy today.

I walk over to the bed letting out a sigh before collapsing onto the bed. What a day today has been.
