Hey everybody!

The song pick for this chapter is:

Blood // water by grandson.

(It mostly just applies to where the second cut off is. )

Happy reading!

They all agreed to meet up at Fluttermont the next night.

Sophie decided that if she could do nothing else, she would train, as she wanted to prepare for any worst-case scenarios.

She always seemed to attract them.

Sandor and flori still didn't suspect anything regarding their secret mission, thank god.

Marella preferred to train her ability with her girlfriend, so she and Linh were out of the picture until that night.

Dex was busy trying to figure out how to scramble the tracker on their registry pendants.

That left Sophie and Biana to train together.

She arrived that morning in black leggings and a long sleeve purple tunic that flared at the waist. Her hair was tied into a high ponytail.

Sophie was In a similar outfit, only with a close-fitting navy tunic, and her hair was tied into a loose bun at the nape of her neck.

They started with target practice, each of them practicing with both goblin throwing stars and bow and arrows. Sophie's aim was always spot-on, and Biana's was too for the most part, except for a few missed shots at the beginning.

She was reminded of the realization that she was probably designed for killing, right before her arm was shattered.

That felt like so long ago, so insignificant now.

She hoped that wouldn't effect that night.

They did cardio after that, trying to communicate telepathically, trying to plan that night while they ran.

They didn't come up with anything new, just went over everything they already covered with the others.

Did you learn anything new about Keefe? Biana thought after the coversation came to a stand-still.

Sophie realized with a pang of guilt that she hadn't checked on him since she left the healing center and her mind started breaking. Funny, since he was part of the reason it happened.

Sophie momentarily broke the connection between their minds as yet another memory shattered.

Biana cast her a wary look as she winced.

No, I haven't, she transmitted.

After they both chugged about a gallon of water, they decided to do fight training.

They walked over to a small sandy circle, where Sandor handed them each two small, blunt knives.

"What are we supposed to do with these?"
Biana asked before Sophie could get the chance, taking the daggers anyway.

"Disarm and get to the knife in a place it could kill. If you step out of the circle, you're disqualified," Sandor instructed, backing out of the circle.

"But elves can't kill. This is pointless," Sophie reminded him, inspecting the fake blades.

"The blade might be, but the training is not. No abilities. You'll begin on the count of three,"

It looked like Woltzer was already placing bets on who would win with him.

She could only hope he put his money on her.
