Fuck.

Sophie took a step forward, her foot almost halfway off the platform. "You can't just go around accusing teens of that. You have no proof!" She exclaimed in a panic.

The Council shifts nervously in their seats. Liora glances at Emery, who silently nods his head. "Actually, we do." She snapped her fingers, making a small device appear in her hand.

Emery turned his attention to the people who had gathered to witness the proceedings. "I strongly advise all of you look away for a moment. The footage we are about to play contains graphic violence, and it took a large toll on even our strongest councillors."

The majority of the crowd bowed their heads, staring a the ground. But a few kept didn't heed Emery's warning and looked toward the council.

Liora tapped the device twice and a projection appeared in the air.

It was a video from what she assumed was from her perspective, just a bit lower.

But how do they have this...?

The registry pendant.

Her fucking registry pendant.

Dex didn't scramble the camera feed. Only the tracker.

Shit shit shit shit shit- that was the only thing she could think as her thoughts went into panic mode.

The council recorded the entire mission. And that meant they were about to see a recording of her murder.

The recording continued to play.

She threw the neverseen members across the room with her telekinesis. She screamed at her friends to leave. She flew across the room she pulled out a dagger as the man begged for his life.

Seeing it play out made it feel surreal. Like she was watching someone else commit such a heinous crime. Not her.

Then they reached the really incriminating part.

She plunged a dagger into the man's chest, then turned and fled.

The recording cut off there.

She turned back to the council. All of them looked sick, disgusted expressions plastering their faces.

She let out a quick breath.

It was funny, really. How quickly someone's life could fall apart. It only took a thirty second clip to exile her. At least, that's what she assumed was going to happen.

"What do you have to say for yourself?" Emery said, as if scolding a child.

"It was necessary. If he had lived, he would have just gone on to hurt more people, and cause more damage. I'm sure anyone who had fought the neverseen personally would agree." She said, turning to her friends.

But they were silent. They were staring at her with nothing but horror.

Her heart stung with betrayal. They were supposed to be on her side. They were supposed to defend her. Instead they offered nothing but silence.
