Roxy's PoV
I stand silently my cold fingers dipping into a bowl of warm soapy water. The flannel drenching itself with my hand squeezing tightly, pulling it out onto Bella's abdomen.
Gently I brush the material over her bloody body, cleansing the wounds that are seemingly healing.
I place the flannel back into the now red water sighing deeply, glancing up at Rose, who held up a new sheet to cover the bed.
Delicately, I scoop Bella's frail body into my arms, Rose swiftly changing the sheet.
"You can put her down," Rose smiles absently.
I lay her back down, carefully removing the rest of her bloody clothes.
"Here," Rose hands me a royal blue dress, "I'll take those."
She disappears leaving Bella and I alone. Softly, I tug the dress over her legs, zipping it up over her back with ease.
"Oh Bella," I frown adjusting her new outfit picking up a hairbrush front he side.
My fingers entwining with her thin, brittle hair, brushing it slowly, my eyes falling onto her wounds beginning to heal fully.
I hear Edward walk into the room, "Annie."
I turn to him, "It's working. Listen."
Together we hear a faint heartbeat getting slightly stronger.
"Then why is she so still?" Edward furrows his eyebrows.
I shrug, "Carlisle thinks it might be because of the morphine. It numbed her attention to pain."
Edward sighs, "I....I....um....Thank you...."
"For what?" I mumble.
"You saved her," He smiles, "She's in transition because you were determined to save her."
I shake my head, "But I gave up once I saw the venom wasn't working."
"We didn't realise the effect the morphine had. It did work, we just didn't know it at the time," He explains.
I exhale sharply, "Still. I could have done more."
"Don't be so hard on yourself," Edward reaches about for my hand, "You've achieved things that many of us still struggle with now."
I sigh, "You don't think it's strange that I want to protect her during her transition, do you?"
He chuckles, "No. Of course not. She protected you during your transition. It's only normal for you to feel the same with her. You both share a bond that I will never fully understand."
I smile lifting up the bowl, leaving Edward alone with Bella.

One day later
"When do you think she'll wake up?" I ask Jasper leaning into his chest on sofa.
"Her heartbeat is becoming slower....."
My ears perk up, the sound of thumping immediately ceasing.
A powerful silence overwhelming the Cullen residence.
I catch Jasper's eyes, the two of us standing to our feet staring at the closed door to Carlisle's medical office.
