Chapter [1]

Roxy's PoV

"I should apologise to Bella," I mumble laying flat on my back on Jasper's bed with my head hanging over the side.

Jasper looks up from his spot by the desk writing casually in his Journal, "Is this about Bella's decision to become a vampire?"

I nod, "I did kind of blow up on her in front of all of you when she held that vote a week ago."

"Darlin," He whispers, closing his Journal placing his pen beside it, "I understand that you want to protect Bella from this life, but you have to remember that at the end of the day it is her choice."

I sit up turning to him, "I know, I'm just worried she's still innocent, I finally see Edward's point of view in this. Being a vampire is not what it's cracked up to be. Honestly, I don't know how you face it everyday."

"Face what?" He questions laying next to me on the bed.

"The blood, the smell....the temptation," I frown looking down in shame.

"Tell me what happened."

I swallow nervously, standing to my feet speeding in front of the window watching the sun rise, "What's there to tell."

Jasper's arm snakes around my waist, his lips brushing the crook of my neck, "I can tell you are upset, please tell me what happened."

"I...I killed someone Jazz....." I turn facing him looking directly into his eyes, "It was an accident, another vampire I ran into taunted me when I was searching for you. I tried so hard to resist it but......well my instincts took over. The monster inside escaped."

A warm hand brushes against my cheek, "Anna, please don't blame yourself, I've been there it doesn't change the past. What is done is done, now you need to focus on the future."

I offer a small smile, "I buried her in a shallow grave nearby. Snapped her neck so that she wouldn't accidentally become one of us..."

Jasper sighs, leaning in planting a soft kiss on my lips, "I love you, Anna."

"Even despite what I just told you," I mutter.

He nods, "Yes. You seem to forget that I have also killed people in the past."

I can feel his body tense as he admits this, "Don't dwell on this Darlin, I promise to help you, we can get through this together."

"Forever?" I ask looking at him full of hope.

"Forever, my beautiful Anna."

I press my forehead against his, kissing him passionately whispering gently, "I love you, Jazz."

I walk downstairs smiling happily noticing Bella sitting with Edward and the others in the living room.

"Hey, Bella," I call out walking towards her, "May I talk to you alone, outside?"

Bella nods, "She won't hurt me Edward," breaking away from his grip following me to the decking out in the backyard.

I gesture for her to take a seat on the step beside me.

"I'm sorry Bella," I apologise, "I shouldn't have yelled at you the way I did. I mean you just returned from almost having an ancient vampire kill you. The last thing you needed was your newborn stepsister scolding you for a decision that is somewhat out of your hands. I-"

"Roxy, stop," Bella smiles laughing, "I appreciate you apologising but a lot of the things you said were true. I guess I am obsessed with becoming a vampire, focusing solely on Edward, that I've been neglecting everything and everyone else in my life."

"Bella..."

She holds her hand up, "No. What you said made a lot of sense, so much so that it's important to note that I do get a choice in becoming a vampire."

"What happened to I'm either a vampire or I die and stay dead?"

"I will need to become a vampire but I don't have to become one straight away. From my reasoning I believe that as long as I become a vampire and don't breathe a word of the supernatural to anyone then it doesn't matters when it happens. Whether it is a month from now or 3 to 5 years."

I find myself rolling my eyes, "Bella, knowing you, you are not going to wait 5 years let alone 3."

She smiles, "Which is why I've decided the best time is for me to transition at the end of summer this year after graduation. I'll be able to spend time with Charlie and your mum, Jake and the pack before I disappear to 'college' up in Alaska."

I sit quietly and think about it carefully, "I could live with that. And it will be your choice. Has Edward agreed to this?"

Bella scrunches up her face, "Sort of, he seems to be learning to accept it, but you know how broody he can be."

I chuckle, "I do," my ears picking up on Edward's sarcastic response, "I don't see you being any less broody than me or Jasper."

"I'm glad we're passed this," Bella smiles, "I've missed you so much."

I pull her into a delicately tight hug, "I missed you too Bella."

Hesitantly, I lean away from her, "I should probably go hunting."

Her eyes widen, "I forgot you're still a newborn."

I offer a considerate look, "Don't worry about it Bella. I'm just taking precautions. Your scent might not bother me much but I'm still a newborn."

Bella nods, "I'll see you soon."

"Of course," I stand up, speeding to the edge of the forest before shouting out for company, "Yo, Emmett. I bet I can catch a grizzly before you?"

He's quickly by my side, "I'd like to see you try."

Rose then appears in the forest next to Emmett and I with Jasper.

Rose smirks, "What makes you think I won't catch this bear before you lot?"

I bite my lip, "Becuase you haven't seen me hunting."
