Day Eighteen: Siblings

Kai stands outside the monastery as the rain falls down. A soft whimper escapes his lips as he looks at the sky, one person in his mind.
Nya.
His little sister, the one person he'd sworn to protect his whole life, was gone. He feels himself sinking onto the cold ground.
"I-I miss you, little sis," silent tears run down Kai's cheeks. "I-I'm sorry I-I couldn't p-protect you."

Kai walks through the hallway, clutching Nya's childhood blanket in his shaking hand. He walks over to her bedroom door, knocking gently, waiting for a response.
"Sis? Are you in there?"
He waits for two minutes before he gently pushes the door open. No one is in the room. Ignoring Lloyd's side of the room, Kai looks at Nya's side of the room. Her bed is made, LED's wrapped around the headboard, pictures hang from the wall on little blue pegs. It looks like she's just gone out for the day, not gone forever.
Kai slowly walks over to her bed, sinking onto it. Holding the blanket to his chest, he looks up at all the pictures. There's a mix of pictures of Nya with their family, their team, Jay. Tears spring to Kai's eyes and flow steadily down his cheeks.
"I-I'm sorry. I-I'm so-so sorry."
Kai lays down on her bed, crying into her pillow.
"It-it's my f-fault that you're gone..."
