Flumptober has come around again (it's been a whole year?!)

Prompt: Autumn (Fall) Leaves

Nya turns her head away as something cold touches her cheek and then her nose. Nya groans and rubs her eyes, feeling her heart warm up at rhythmitic thumps beat against her arm. Blinking her eyes open, Nya smiles and pulls the bundle of black and pale brown fur towards her body.
"G'morning Cookie," Nya murmurs, rubbing her face into the puppy's fur.
A quiet, excited yap escapes Cookie, his tail wagging furiously. Nya giggles and kisses his head. Cookie yaps and licks her fingers, his tail wagging rapidly. Nya giggles and hugs him to her chest. Nya nuzzles her nose into his head.
"Should we go and find your dad?"
Cookie barks and jumps out of her arms, sliding off the covers and landing on the carpeted floor. He shakes his head before darting towards the bedroom door, pawing at the pale wood and whining. Nya climbs out of bed and stretches her arms over her head, smiling as her bones crack. Looping her fingers around the door handle, she pulls it open, allowing Cookie to run out and sprint downstairs.
Soft paws land on Jay's ankles, causing the teen to jump and look down. He smiles and crouches down, running his hand through the puppy's fur.
"Hello Cookie," Jay cooes, smiling when the puppy licks his fingers.
Cookie yaps and runs in a circle around him. Jay laughs and picks the puppy up in his arms. Jay holds the puppy to his chest and kisses his head. Cookie yaps and licks Jay's face.

Red, orange and yellow leaves cascade down from the trees, landing on the forest floor. Small piles of leaves tower up at the bottom of the trees. The forest stretches for miles, the autumn sun peeking through the leaves, casting lights and shadows across the forest floor.
Nya crouches down and unclips the lead from Cookie's harness. Cookie blinks up at her before darting off, jumping into a nearby leaf pile. Nya giggles and crouches down next to the pile. Jay joins her.
Cookie darts out from under the leaf pile, an orange leaf in his mouth. Nya's heart melts and she strokes his fur. A yellow leaf floats down just above Cookie's head. The puppy drops the orange leaf and jumps up, trying to catch the leaf in his mouth. Nya giggles and catches the leaf in her hands before holding it out to the puppy. Cookie gently takes the leaf into his mouth and darts to Jay, his tail wagging furiously.
Jay chuckles and pats his head, smiling down at the puppy. Nay scoops a pile of leaves into her hands. Cookie turns his head to her, his dark eyes wide with anticipation and curiosity. Nya sprinkles the leaves down towards the puppy, giggling when he drops the leaf in his mouth and jumps around the falling leaves, trying to catch as many as he can in his mouth.
"Is this nice Cookie?" Nya asks.
Cookie yaps and paws at her ankles. Nya scoops him up into her arms. She looks over at Jay, who walks over with the discarded lead.
"I think he enjoyed his first walk," Jay says, kissing her hair.
"Me too."
