Chapter 21: Advice

Y/N: "Yo coach, it's already 3pm can I join them now?"

Coach Ukai: "Hmm, okay Tanaka switch with Y/N."

Finally! Hellish waiting time is finally over.

Tanaka then came over to switch with me.

Tanaka: "Score 100 points." He said giving me a high five.

Y/N: "Sure! Isn't that a bit too much though."

Coach Ukai: "A bit is an understatement."

Y/N: "Yeah yeah whatever."

Nekoma is our current opponent for today.

Haiba delivered a powerful serve and Asahi was barely able to receive it and it went right towards me.

"Last shot is yours Hinata."

I said passing it to him.

Ah it's too close to the net and Hinata tried to hit it but it was shot down by Haiba who was much taller and bigger than him giving him a big advantage.

"Sorry, that was on me." I apologized.

Haiba served again but it wasn't as good as before and I managed to pick it up easily and I sent it to Kageyama.

Kageyama was going for a quick attack with Hinata but it failed, Hinata was out of reach from the ball. Weird.

Hinata: "That toss just now was shobby." He said to Kageyama.

Kageyama: "Huh, me? Doing a shobby job in volleyball." He seems pissed.

Then they started arguing and Suga was quick to break them up.

We continued the game again and the duo couldn't pull off a quick at all leaving me to do most of the attacking.

But we eventually lost anyway.

Suga: "Hinata and Kageyama aren't in sync at all today."

Y/N: "Yeah, it feels like Hinata's the one who's wearing the crown today."

Suga: "What do you mean?"

Y/N: "It kinda looks like Hinata's trying to make him set where he wants rather than Kageyama doing that."

Suga: "It does feel like that."

After the small talk with Suga I went to Kageyama to talk to him.

Y/N: "Yo, you okay? Are you sick? Fever? Flu?"

Kageyama: "No, I'm completely fine L/N-senpai, I guess what Oikawa said got to me."

Y/N: "Huh? That guy again? What did he tell you."

Kageyama: "Something along the lines of the setter being controlled by the hitter or vice versa or something like that."

Y/N: "Oikawa-san must've really had a bad influence on you."

Kageyama: "You know him?"

Y/N: "Yeah, he's my sister's boyfriend, he's a pretty nice guy."

Kageyama: "What?! Oikawa and nice doesn't fit together at all, well at least to me."

Y/N: "He seemed really nice though, even Nee-chan said so. I guess he has a grudge towards you or something."

He flinched when I said the last part.

Y/N: "I was right on the spot huh? So, why does he hate you?"

Kageyama: "I heard from Iwaizumi that he hates prodigies."

Y/N: "Ah, no wonder he was like that towards Ushijima too but why wasn't he like that to me if he hates prodigies... Maybe I'm not one? But then why am I so good in Volleyball... Maybe I'm not good enough..."

Kageyama: "L/N-senpai, you're getting out of topic."

Y/N: "Oh, sorry about that, anyway let's get back to the game. Forget about anything Oikawa said for now and focus only on the game and Hinata and his movements, okay?"

Kageyama: "Okay, understood."

Y/N: "You don't have to be too formal. It's not like I'm gonna punish you and Hinata if you mess up again."

Kageyama: 'Scary.'

How many times have we lost today, I'm not really sure but it'd be nice to win at least once.

Coach Ukai: "Okay gather up we're going to start our next game."

"We're having another match with Nekoma. We'll try to beat them at least once today."

"Ossu!"

Let's start this game with a strong serve shall we.

I took a few steps back, preparing for my serve.

Here comes my strongest serve Nekoma!

I was running up to hit the ball and I hit it and it flew towards them in such speed that they couldn't receive it...

Was what they thought because of my body movement but I instead hit a float serve and yeah they still couldn't receive it.

"Nice serve!"

I have a feeling we'll win this one. Let's go, Karasuno!
