Chapter 8: Rivals?

As the trio entered the gym, someone "greets" them.

???: "Well well well, look who's here."

Y/N: "That's not a very nice welcome. Or is it. Considering it's you, I shouldn't really expect much anyway."

???: "It seems the so-called storm is back after cowering away in fear from me."

Y/N: "Big talk from someone who couldn't even beat me. You damn rooster head."

Kuroo: "Well that was because we were already tired from the match we had earlier with another team at that time, you damn brat."

Y/N: "Don't just make up stupid excuses, we also played one match before facing your team and yet we still beat you 2 sets to nothing."

Kuroo just stood there without moving after hearing what he said.

Komori: "That's harsh"

Sakusa: "I agree with Y/N"

Y/N: "Enough with that let's have a 3 on 3 match. Are you with anyone you rooster-head."

Kuroo: "Yeah I'm with two others."

Y/N: "And who exactly are these people."

Kuroo: "My teammates, Fukunaga and Kenma"

Y/N: "Great, I'm really fired up."

Komori: "Yeah I'm really warmed up from all that, so I can play right now."

Y/N: "Let's change and we'll play."

We went to change our clothes and as we went back to the court the three people were there.

Fukunaga: "Yo, I haven't seen you in a while, L/N."

Y/N: "Yeah, same to you."

Sakusa: "Enough chitchat let's start the match."

Kenma: "How about one set?"

Komori: "Sure, why not." 'That's surprisingly short'

We went to each side of the court.

Y/N: "I will play as setter for today, the rest of you can play in your positions."

Sakusa/Komori: Understood.

I started off the match with a jump serve and they weren't able to receive it properly, so the first point goes to us.

The service aces went on for two more consecutive points. On the third serve Fukunaga managed to get the ball up to Kenma and he set the ball to Kuroo, or so they thought as Kenma did a setter dump.

Y/N: "He's really unpredictable."

Komori: Don't mind, we'll get the next one.

The current point is 3-1

Kuroo was now serving and Komori was able to get the ball to me and I sent the ball towards Sakusa. He was about to hit a cross shot but Kuroo and Kenma managed to block the ball.

Kuroo was serving again and this time he hit the ball towards me which forced me to sent the ball Komori. I immediately called for the ball and Komori set the ball towards me. I was gonna spike but they quickly jumped to my level so I hit the ball towards the tip of their fingers and the ball went up and fell outside of the court.

Timeskip.

The score is currently 31-30

They managed to push us to play a deuce.

It was Sakusa's turn to serve this time.

He served the ball and Fukunaga barely received it and the ball went back to our side.

Y/N: "Komori!" I shouted, signalling him to receive it

Komori: "Got it!"

Komori got the ball up to me and I decided to spike it. I hit a straight shot but the ball went right outside of the court.

Sakusa: "What was that.!"

Y/N: "Sorry, that was a mistake." 'Man, Sakusa sure is scary'

Kenma is now serving and he did a normal serve and it was Sakusa this time who received it and I set the ball for him and he was able to score this time.

32-31

Sakusa: "Let's win this already."

I was serving and I decided to serve it with all my power. I served the ball and it went so fast that they weren't able to receive it at all. The ball makes contact with the floor and it made a loud "bang". The ball was inside of the court this time.

33-31

We won.

Y/N: *pant* "Finally... That was tiring."

Kuroo: "We still lost aghhhhhhh."

Y/N: "I told you. You can't beat me."

Kuroo: "It seems that I have lost yet again but next time I'll win."

Y/N: "And I'm gonna beat you again with Karasuno next time."

Kuroo: "You're joining the training camp right?"

Y/N: "Yes, I'll see you there. Kiyoomi, Komori let's go home I'm tired."

Sakusa: "Yeah, it's getting late."

Then we each parted ways.

Timeskip.

L/N Household, Dinner

M/N: "So, how was today dear?"

Y/N: "It was fun but the trip was tiring."

F/N: "We should've sent a car for you."

Y/N: "No, the train was fine but is leaving Nee-chan all alone safe."

M/N: "Don't worry she has been there for more than two years with her visiting us time to time."

Y/N: "I completely forgot about that. The food is delicious."

M/N: "Of course, I made it myself."

F/N: "Y/N-kun do you have plans for the week?"

Y/N: "I think I have plans for tomorrow but I don't have any plans for the days after that."

F/N: "Then do you mind coming with me after tomorrow for training with the national team?"

Y/N: No, I don't mind at all.

F/N: "Glad to hear."

I finished dinner and washed the dishes and took a bath again and right now I'm currently in my room, playing a game on my Nintendo 3DS XL. I got a call from my phone and I answered it.

Y/N: Moshi Moshi, Mika-chan?

Mika: Moshi Moshi Y/N-kun, I'm here to call you about our bet.
