Spencer's POV
"Damnnn..." the section shouts as Liv's drink splashes directly in my face.
I freeze in shock because it's the first time a female has ever thrown a drink in my face. And to top it off, it's my wife.
"Spencer!" She yells before immediately wiping my face with her hand. "I'm so sorry. I thought you were—."
"Damn, Liv!" I finally fix my lips to say and I can hear the chuckles from the section, before the host comes and brings over a towel.
Jayda walks over trying to hold in her laughter.
"I appreciate you not entertaining other men, but you ain't got to throw drinks, babe!" I say seriously as I accept the towel and wipe my face.
The host uses another towel and attempts to wipe off my chest, before Liv politely takes it.
"I got this, sweetheart! Thank you."
"Damn, the club is supposed to be a chill vibe. You in here on edge." I continue to tell Liv, and she starts to laugh as she wipes the champagne off my chest.
"I said sorry." She says before grabbing my face and kissing my lips. "I thought you this guy that kept asking to buy me drinks!"
"So now I sound like any guy to you?" I questions she laughs.
"No! But in this loud ass club, you kind of do."
I suck my teeth at her response and she laughs even hard before continuing to dry me off with the towel.
"Anyway—- What guy?" I ask. "What guy got you throwing drinks?"
"That's not important— the important part is that you're here."
"F—- that! Why are you here, Spencer?" Jayda interrupts and I suck my teeth again. "Did you really come to check up on us?"
"Us? No, Jayda... I ain't checking on you." I answer. "You got Darnell for that! And relax, I'm only here because Evan asked me to come. I ain't know y'all were here until a few minutes ago."
"I call bullshit. You know these phones have trackers, right?" Jayda whispers and Liv laughs as I wave my hand dismissively.
"I trust my wife. And I don't owe your ass an explanation," I say and Liv chuckles even harder at our banter.
"Well, I'm glad you're here." My wife says and I lick my tongue out at Jayda and she replies with an eye roll.
I laugh because I know Jayda and myself have plenty of more business to do together. But we won't get moments like this when we're across the country. And even though it was my decision to leave, I'm going to miss sharing those moments with my friend.
"If this is your way of telling me you're happy I'm here, can you just ask me to leave next time?" I say to Liv and I can never get tired of seeing her smile.
So if that means, I have to walk around a club covered in champagne, I'll do it.
"Dance with me. I promise to make it up to you," she tells me.
I stand back and admire her body as she starts to move to the beat before I grab her waist and start to move along with her.
I didn't get many nights like this while playing in the league. Not because I couldn't, but because I preferred not to.
And I still would rather be in the house, if I'm being honest. But, my former teammate and friend, Evan is another person I'm leaving behind in New York City. So I didn't want to turn his offer to hang out, down.
