Literally eight sharp.
I look like shit. I mean, my hair and makeup is done, but I am wearing sweatpants and a crewneck. I don't have anything to wear, and now he is going to be pissed.
Not only do I look like this, but my apartment does too. It looks like a tornado went through it. This is not how I wanted him to see me. I am at my most venerable state right now, and Jace is the last person I need to see me like this.
I take a deep breath before opening the door.
He looks at me up and down but doesn't say a word.
"I know. I texted you but you never answered me." I look down. He is holding... flowers? I tilt my head and he lifts my chin up.
"I got you." He says as he hands me a bag. "You're going to look great."
I snatch the bag from him and pull out a green silk dress. This dress looks more than a year's worth of my rent. "Uh... I can't accept this." I want to. But if I do, he will just have another edge over me, and I will be in debt to him again.
"Ah. Okay, and what were you planning on wearing then?" He steps into my apartment and grabs a jumpsuit off my couch.
He looks at me with a crooked smile as I scrunch my nose. "Figured." He says.
"Look, this is a beautiful dress, but it's too expensive." I say as I open the bag to put the dress back in, but I see things at the bottom. Did this man really buy me an entire outfit for night? I pull the jewelry out and there is a necklace that has my initial on it. I can feel my face forming a small smile but I quickly wipe it off because I don't want him to know how much I appreciate the gesture.
"Sorry, love. It's a part of the terms you agreed to earlier."
"Terms?" I ask.
"Yes. To sum it up, you did agree. And the terms are basically anything I say."
I did not agree to this. Holy fuck I did. I was so caught up with finding out I am going to be meeting the LeBlanc brothers, I wasn't even listening.
"Fine," I say as I walk towards the bedroom with the bag. "I hope there are some exceptions. It's not like I am going to marry you or anything."
"Or anything." He says while taking a seat on the kitchen bar stool.
I shake my head laughing, this man is insane.
