Irwin woke up to the sound of animals, they heard elephants and monkeys and lions all clamouring in their cages. They realized they were in a zoo. Irwin sat up as they looked around at the animals.

"How did I get here?" They muttered to themselves. Irwin never liked zoos, they were always mean to the animals they kept and never treated them like living beings.

Irwin rubbed their eyes and yawned, they often found themselves in strange locations

A woman with her child approached them.

"Do you have a parent or guardian with you?" She asked, the woman's face was blurred and her clothes were static, her voice was clear as day however.

Irwin took the hand she had extended and stood up, "N-no..." Irwin stuttered. The woman seemed to be in a rush, and they weren't sure why. They decided it was best to follow this woman.

"That's alright, come with me before he notices." She grabbed Irwin's hand tighter and went to go look at the lions with the children.

"He? Who's 'he'?" Irwin asked, worried he missed something.

"The zookeeper," she whispered, "He kills kids without parents."

Irwin felt his heart beat quicken. They didn't like the sound of this zookeeper guy.

"What does he look like?" Irwin asked, looking up at the mother who was now carrying her (what looked like) five-year-old.

"Nobody's ever seen him."

"Then how do they know he kills people?"

The mother sighed. "He only kills kids, when they're alone, and it's only ever happened in this zoo." She rocked the child in her arms.

"So then why do people come here?" Irwin's questions were seeming to make the mother uncomfortable.

"Please, stop asking questions." She held the child who was now crying. Irwin nodded apologetically, as they didn't like upsetting people.

"Terribly sorry, ma'am, I never meant to-" They looked down shamefully at the lions who had been circling a bush.

"It's alright," the mother interrupted, "You were merely curious." She shook her child to calm it down.

Irwin felt a sudden drowsiness.

"I'm not feeling so good..." Their head got fuzzy and they fell over the side of the railing. The mother reached for them, but it was too late.
