Max sat alone in his room. His parents had moved Colosso to another floor because they believed he had been brainwashing Max to do evil deeds. Max wanted his best friend back.

He ran upstairs to his father, hoping for some sort of bargain.

"Please, Hank." Genuine fear clouded his tone. "He's not brainwashing me!"

"You'll call me dad because I'm your father and he is too brainwashing you." Hank responded harshly.

"What in the world would make you believe that?" Max scoffed.

"You think you're a supervillain!"

"I am a supervillain!?" Max accidentally shouted.

"Lower your voice, I'm the adult here." Hank said, raising his voice so he was louder than Max. "Besides, everyone knows this whole supervillain thing is a phase. Maybe if Colosso's gone, you'll finally grow out of it."

"Just like Phoebe's 'bisexuality'." Barb chimed in, putting air quotes around 'bisexuality'. "She'll realize she's gay or straight eventually."

That shoved Max even deeper in the closet. As much as he hated his sister and never had any kind of relationship with her, he couldn't help but feel bad for her. His parents seriously thought that it didn't exist, that he existed as nothing more than a plot to continue their family line. He didn't even plan on ever having children, especially considering the guy he liked was out of his reach.

If he told anyone in his family that he liked Link Evilman, they'd think he were lying. They'd think he were trying to take away the 'one thing' Phoebe had that he didn't. In reality, Phoebe was the golden child who had it all. The support, the fame, the boyfriend. Meanwhile Max, Billy and Nora were all left in the dust. Picking up her scraps from the table.

Max ran down to his basement again, emotionally exhausted and not wanting to acknowledge Colosso's absence. For the first time in forever, he started crying. Generally he'd bottle up his emotions and distract himself instead, but he was actually feeling his emotions this time for an unknown reason.

He considered running away, but he couldn't just leave Colosso behind. He just wanted out of this hellhole of a family.

But I suppose that's not possible.
Tomorrow is another day.
