Chapter 27

Gray and Juvia were in the hospital. A real one this time. Juvia was lying quietly on one of the beds and Gray was sitting down next to her. "Juvia, please wake up..." he caressed her face with his thumb and brought his fingers up to the corner of her eyes. "It's been a week since I saw those beautiful blue eyes," he was starting to breathe heavily. He knew this feeling. And for once, he didn't hold the tears back. "You have to wake up...I love you." He dug his face on her stomach and cried. "Please..." he wrapped his arms around her waist.

Another weeks slowly crawled by, and Juvia still hadn't woken up. Everyday Gray would come, he would come with a bouquet of flowers and set it neatly next to her, kiss her forehead, and sit next to her until it was night and he had to go home again.

A third week passed, and he was beginning to get worried. He knew for a fact she was alive, since her stomach had grown bigger since she got there. Even if it was Natsu's, he pretended as if it was his, so it wouldn't be that painful. He bent down and kissed her. He kept kissing her for minutes until a doctor opened the door and interrupted him. "Sorry.." the doctor apologized. Gray's face was burning hot.

"I-It's o-okay.."

"Anyway, last night, we took some tests and she is ready to wake up. The reason she hasn't woken up is because we have set the machines to keep her sleeping, since she was too fragile to wake up." Gray nodded and sighed in relief. "She will be waking up shortly." The doctor walked up to the machine and pressed a green button. Her fingers twitched, causing him to grin. "If you'll excuse me now," the doctor bowed his head and left the room. Gray looked his way until the door was shut.

He sprinted next to Juvia, and held her hand. He was shaking. "Juvia..." he managed to say, and kissed her hand. Juvia's eyes slowly opened.

"Gray-sama..." he looked up and hugged her.

"Juvia," he kissed her forehead, then her lips. But what shocked him was that she didn't kiss back. "What's wrong?" He helped her sit up.

"Juvia can't feel her legs."

"What?"
