Chapter 7 - Goodbye Forks

Before anyone could comprehend what exactly happened, Edward was on the floor, screaming with agony. Taking a closer look, you could see that his arms were missing.

'And here it comes', was the united thought of the Mikaelson siblings.

"Who exactly do you think you are, child? What type of right do you think you have on MY daughter?!"

"What are you?! And Isabella is not your daughter. She is my human p- mate!" , Edward spit out through his pain, almost calling Bella his pet in front of these dangerous creatures. He moved closer to Bella in an attempt to forcefully remove her from where she was standing between her brothers.

Unfortunately for him, everyone had caught his slip. The word he was about to use only served to make Mikael angrier.

"Get any closer to poppet, and I'll peel your skin off and throw you in a fireplace using your limbs as fuel for it, you bloody wanker!"

Edward startled at the sudden threat from Kol and stopped where he was.

"Edward let them be. Step away from Bella. These are the Originals. As in the original vampires of the traditional kind. They are much stronger and faster than us. It's best to leave now.", Carlisle's calm, coven leader voice cut in, though looking into his eyes, one could see that he feared them. His eyes darted back and forth from Mikael and Niklaus.

"Ah! So you have heard of us. Can't say I'm not surprised. Our family does have quite a reputation. Of course it might mostly be about Niklaus.", Elijah's diplomatic voice sounded from behind Bella, who jumped not expecting him to be so close to her. She was so caught up with what was going on in front of her that she didn't pay attention to her surroundings. She spun around to see her older brother looking at her in amusement. She rolled her eyes and stuck her tongue out at him, then turned back around only to see the rest of her family looking as if they were holding their laughter in. She pouted and gestured towards the Cullens once more.

"Back to the matter at hand dear brothers of mine...", Bella said.

"What is a traditional vampire? These people- creatures- look like humans, Carlisle.", Rosalie asked. More like demanded. Emmett rubbed her arms in an attempt to comfort his upset mate.

"They are the real vampires, Rosalie. They were created a millennium ago. We on the other hand were created only about 500 years ago. Legend has it that a witch tried to imitate the spell of the Original Witch and thus we were created as a result of the spell gone wrong-"

"Ah yes. Mother did use quite a few components that the witch did not even think she required. For example the doppleganger-"

"Kol!", Mikael admonished. "They do not need to know more than the fact that we are superior to them. And yes-", turning to Bella, "What's his name again, sweetheart?"

"Oh! I am so sorry. I completely forgot to introduce everyone. Father, the blond man who was speaking before Ollie", Bella gave Kol a glare while he just smiled cheekily at her, "interrupted is Carlisle Cullen. Beside him, the woman with caramel coloured hair is his mate Esme. They are the patriarch and matriarch of the 'family'. The guy with a bulky build is Emmett. The blonde girl in front of him is his mate Rosalie Hale. The male who looks like he's gone to war- and that's because he has- is Ollie and I's dear friend, Major Jasper Whitlock. The pixie looking girl in front of him is Alice. And the copperhead who's arms you just tore off is Edward Cullen."

"Hm. Carlisle Cullen. Sounds familiar. Ah yes. You are the one who was at some point of time with the Volturi, yes? Well, anyway. You are right about the legends. Esther is the original witch and we are the first vampires to be created. Well I was supposed to be a vampire hunter to kill Niklaus-", he looked back at Klaus and said, "I am not after you or your siblings anymore. I really do apologize for what I have done in the past. I believe it was not just the potion Esther gave me but also because she'd been influencing my mind for many years before you were even born. I never really hated you.", Turning back to Carlisle, he missed the tears gathering in Klaus' eyes and the comforting hand Bella placed on his arm. "However, now I wish to reunite my family in our hometown. Mystic Falls. And for that we need to take your leave. Isabella, do get what you would require there and tie up all your loose ends. We shall leave in 3 days."

"Yes Father!", Bella replied enthusiastically. She jumped to hug him, and dashed inside Charlie's house to get things in order, leaving her family chuckling in her wake.

"I will go see if she needs any help", Rebekah said and went after her sister.

"May I join you for sometime till I go to find Peter and Char, Kol?", Jasper asked.

"Of course. I am sure Bella would also love that."

By now, Edward had finally attached his arms back. He growled at everybody present and ran away. The remaining Cullens except Jasper, looked at the Originals and took their leave.

Charlie cleared his throat and took his leave too as he had to go to the police station. Before leaving he politely asked all the Mikaelsons to join him at his house and make themselves comfortable there.

Elijah looked between Niklaus and his father. "The two of you still have unfinished business to tend to. We will leave you alone for a while to sort it out."

With that he ushered Kol and Jasper inside.

Klaus looked at Mikael and decided that yes. They did have some unfinished business to sort out. He took a deep breath and steeled himself. He opened his mouth to speak but was cut off when Mikael awkwardly hugged him.

"I will keep apologising because I realise that I have made you feel unloved, worthless and alone. I cannot reverse the damage done but I will try and make it better, my son."

"Thank you. Your acceptance is what I always needed."

Inside the house, the rest cheered (either internally or externally). Bella was extremely happy at the moment. She had her family back. She couldn't help but wonder what it would have been like if Damon was there. She shook her head and pushed her thoughts aside. Right now, she was finally with her family together and not at each other's throats. She fully planned to enjoy the moment.
