The ginger male soon let both of the males go, clearly in annoyance. Dazai smiled gleefully whilst still trying to mock Chuuya about his lack of careless to his prisoner. Xiao without any doubt left the scene. Did the two of them notice? Xiao did could care less. He completed his task, making sure that the citizens were safe, so he had no other reasons to why he should stick around. Xiao didn't want to be selfish or in fact self-centred. So having the momentum of keeping his reputation up high, he fled the scene. This will be the last time he'll encounter with the agency and the port mafia, or so he thought.

It has been over a couple of days, doing his daily patrol around the high ups of the city. Some quite annoying, like just helping citizens find their home, while others is just the average, defeating criminals and fleeing the scene before the police arrives. During those days, he has bumped into some of the members of the Agency but refused to strike a conversation with any of them, Y/N couldn't help but just walk past them, was it impolite? Yes but he had his reasons to do so, but the reasons were non-existent. But why were the foul members of the Agency still chasing after him like some prize, clearly he wasn't enough to compare to such object. Y/N knew, he knew. They only wanted Xiao not Y/N. It was a foolish play for them to continue tracking him down when the male was already claimed. Claimed by another, someone that goes by the name of a certain bard. Y/N's soul was drained by the actions of the other male, his mind cannot focus on one thing, after all, he cannot break through the chains that wraps around him. The contract will end when his life will have its down, but unfortunately, it's for eternal.

Here was Y/N, dressed casually, strolling along a tranquil street. The lights flicker, portraying the darkness as it fades away and then reappears. Y/N followed the trail of lights to its conclusion, which was a river glistening in the evening sun's reflection. There was a bridge, but he chose to remain motionless and listen to the pounding waves, which had been quietly turned into a small lullaby. Y/N has no idea what he's doing at this location, and he's not aware of another presence nearby. He was too preoccupied with the river, which had a hidden narrative that begged to be told again.

"So this is where you have been?"

Y/N stiffened, the familiar voice that mimicked a melody that rung through his ears. Xiao turned around.

"Barbatos.."

The bard slightly chucked while landing his hands onto the quite shocked male.

"Please do call me Venti-I'm guessing I took you by surprise? Hm?"

Xiao nodded as he waited for the other male to continue again. Barbatos would always ask for something to be done when he came to see him, but this time the bard just stood there smiling at the other. Xiao had a perplexed expression on his face.

"..Is there something you need?"

Venti broke from his trace of thought and grinned brighter than before.

"I just missed you!..that's all."

Xiao was not impressed. He crossed his arms.

"..and I want you to join the Port Mafia."

𝐒𝐄𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐃 𝐏𝐎𝐕:

You did not understand where this conversation was going. You wanted to disagree but that would lead to unnecessary punishments. You decided to question the sudden statement.

"Why? You and I both know that that organisation isn't worth our time nor help."

The bard hummed at your response. He knew you would disagree but wouldn't depose of the idea since of his title. Venti knew he could overpower you, and he's going to use it to his advantage.

"But you and I both know that we must keep both of the organisations at each other's throats! It will be such a surprise to see an adeptus asking to join a place such as theirs. And plus it will be quite amusing."

Venti used the same starter sentence as you while you grumbled. There was something much more than just joining a foul place such as the Port Mafia. There was another story behind it.

"Time is ticking Xiao! The perfect movie is going to be created and you will be the star!"

You shook your head, were you really going to agree with such vulgar actions? The only Port Mafia member you remember was that ginger male. But you wouldn't consider him as someone you could trust, or in fact anyone. You would not let anyone have their shoulder to lean on, you rather have them on you. Mortals never assisted you, you resolve their problems but they never return the favour. After all, humans are selfish.

"Come on Xiao! You don't have to go out in the open, maybe just in the shadow and-"

"-when the time is right, I pop out of no where to surprise everyone..."

You completed his sentence as Venti held his thumbs up with a wink. Such childish behaviour yet so sinister.

"That is right~so are you in?"

You walked away from the male, folding your arms. Huffing you responded.

"Yes, after all..I don't have a choice do I?"

✦ ✦ ✦

You couldn't believe you were actually doing such distasteful actions but your stuck in an endless loop due to a foolish contract. Venti gave you the address of the Port Mafia, it was quite sudden and strange for him to have the knowledge of the location but you did not bare question-since the bard already left the scene. The guards and the security let you in without another glance. You sighed, Venti definitely planned this and even if you disagreed, he would already have another plan. The bard is always one step ahead of you. No matter where you stand, you would always be behind him. The shadows of his chords, the loyal dog to the master, the Yang to the Ying. You were everything to Venti. But he was nothing to you.

Each guard slipped you away, some followed you to make sure you made your way to the destination without any trouble. Once you reached the main room, you opened the knob without any thought.

"Glad to know you made it here without any obstacles Xiao."
