Chapter 5

"So that was Chelsea Miller huh?" Leah asked.

"Yup," Liam replied simply, trying to control his nerves.

"What's your plan?"

"Well, I want to kind of gain her trust a little bit more first. I'll figure out a way to find out who he is," Liam nodded.

Leah nodded slowly.

"So what do you know about her so far?"

"She has a best friend named Josie and she's dating a guy named Max. Her dad lives in another state, her parents divorced...and that's all," Liam shrugged.

"Maybe keep an eye on Max," Leah suggested.

"What? You think it's him?" Liam asked.

"No, but just keep an eye on everyone she's close with," Leah advised.

Liam accepted the advice and he'd make sure he'd remember it.

Liam cleared his throat, "uh there's a new movie that just came out, you want to watch it with me?"

This took Leah aback. Did he just ask her on a date?

"Like, a date?"

"No, of course not," Liam quickly answered out of nervousness.

His reply hurt Leah a little but she didn't show it. Liam for sure didn't notice how his words affected her.

"I actually have plans… so maybe next time."

Liam quickly nodded in disappointment, "of course that's totally fine."

Didn't she say she didn't have anything to do tonight? Liam thought. Maybe something came up.

"Actually, can we visit the art shop? I need some supplies," Leah said, changing the subject.

This information shocked Liam, he didn't know she was into art too.

"Yeah, sure," Liam agreed.

The two then made their way over to the art shop.

"I didn't know you liked drawing," Liam said as they stood on the escalator beside each other.
"There's a lot of things you don't know about me, Reed," Leah smiled.

"I draw too," Liam said.
"You do?" Leah asked, her eyebrows raised.

The two then talked about their shared hobby as they walked towards the art shop. They soon arrived and as Leah looked around for some color pencils, Liam got a text from Chelsea.
