A few years later...

"Hey dad! Chels!" Liam happily greeted them as he let the two in.

"I got some cupcakes!" Chelsea said enthusiastically before putting down a box filled with cupcakes on the kitchen counter. She then hugged Leah before the two girls went into the living room.

"Please tell me you got that dress," Chelsea said, looking at her sister-in-law.

Leah happily replied with a yes before Chelsea insisted that she wanted to try it on.

Meanwhile, Mason hugged Liam before going into the kitchen and ate some of the cupcakes. Liam and Mason were careful to not take too many as they had to leave some for Xavier and Jared who were coming over in a few minutes.

Liam ate in silence, which was odd for Mason.

"What is it, son?" Mason asked, knowing that there was something in Liam's mind.

Liam shrugged, "sometimes… I think about the past. What I did to all of those innocent people and… I just- I don't know. The guilt came back I guess."

It felt like yesterday when he, Leah, and Chelsea stayed in that hotel, when he reported to the police about Diaz, when he finally realized that everything was going to be okay again.

Mason sighed and put a reassuring hand on his son's shoulder.

"We can't change the past, son. We can only focus on the future and make sure to not make the same mistakes," Mason said wisely.

Liam smiled at the reassurance, it always worked. He then felt a pair of lips on his cheek before Liam turned and locked eyes with his wife.

"Everything okay?" Leah asked softly.

Liam stayed silent for a moment before genuinely replied, "yeah. I'm fine. Everything's okay."
