Liam's heart raced faster once his eyes set on his father. His back was facing the car, Liam could see his brown short hair.

"Ahh, I'm so excited!" Chelsea cheered happily, parking her car by the house.

Their father soon turned around once he heard the car park and that's when Liam's eyes locked with his. A weird feeling overtook Liam once he had a clear view of his father's face.

Oh how it had been so long.

Mason Miller smiled recognizing his daughter's car while Chelsea turned off the car engine.

"Alright, you ready?" Chelsea asked her brother enthusiastically. She never said anything, but Chelsea was also nervous about the very awaited moment.

"Y-yeah," Liam stuttered.

How was Mason going to react? What if he despised Liam because Liam reminds him of his ex-wife?

Chelsea got out of the car as Mason ran over to her with a huge smile on his face.

"Hey, dad!" Chelsea greeted as she hugged Mason.

"Hiya, Chels! I was just about to call you and ask where you were because no one seemed to be in the house," Mason smiled as Liam nervously stared at the older Miller.

"Dad, I have a surprise for you," Chelsea said.
"Ooh, a surprise? Really?" Mason commented.
"Liam!" Chelsea called.

Liam slowly opened the car door and stepped out of the car while Mason carefully watched. He then closed the car door and looked up to meet his father's eyes, listening to his heart banging against his ribcage.

Mason smiled, "Chels, when were you going to tell me you had a boyfriend?"

Liam kept his mouth shut, he couldn't believe that he was standing right in front of his father. Liam kept his eyes on Mason as if he was the only person in the world. He couldn't focus on anything else besides his father.

Chelsea giggled, "Dad, this is not my boyfriend. Uhm, this is Liam."

Mason furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, "a friend?"

Chelsea took a couple of seconds before she replied, "no, it's… it's your son."

Mason needed a couple of seconds to process his daughter's words before his eyes widened in shock.

"What?" Mason said barely above a whisper as his whole attention was now on his son.

"H… hi, dad," Liam said timidly, afraid of his father's reaction.

Mason stares at Liam with wide eyes, he then turned to Chelsea, "are you seri- is this really happening?"

Chelsea nodded, a smile forming on her lips.

Mason turned back to Liam, looking at the brunette in awe as a happy laugh escaped the 48 year-old's lips before pulling his long lost son into a loving hug. Once Liam was in his father's arms, tears instantly welled up in his eyes. Mason killing an innocent lady was now away back deep in Liam's mind, all that Liam focused on was his father.

"Son," Mason said happily as tears welled up in his eyes as well. His son was back in his arms again, and he thought it was too good to be true. But it was.

"Dad," Liam whimpered, pressing his forehead on his father's shoulder while the tears running down his cheeks quickly dampened Mason's jacket.

Liam and Mason laughed as they walked around at the park, an ice cream cup in each of their hands.

"Those were good times… and then your mother had to ruin it all," Mason said, completely changing the atmosphere.
