It had been a few hours since Liam, Leah, and Chelsea escaped. Being frustrated was a huge understatement for Diaz. Killing the whole family of the murderer of his wife was everything that he wanted. He couldn't take the idea of the killer wandering around still alive after killing his wife much longer.

Anderson had been trying to track down Leah's car but it had been really difficult. One minute he got Leah's car but the next, he lost her. Leah continuously changed her car's appearance, which was not helping Anderson at all.

Xavier and Jared also escaped after they fought the guards to let Leah and Liam escape. Diaz had been trashing his office in anger and desperation ever since.

As he sat at his desk, his doors opened and revealed Will. He slowly walked in, trying to ignore all of the broken expensive stuff that Diaz had thrown all over the place. He slowly walked towards Diaz and placed a small glass box on his table.

"I know a way to track down Reed and Miller's father," Will said, causing Diaz's head to snap up.

"Took a while, but I found a few pieces of Reed's hair in his bathroom. Tracking down his family through his DNA should be easy, Anderson should be able to handle it," Will explained while Diaz stared at the small glass box in front of him with a few pieces of brown hair in it, obviously Liam's hair.

"Thank you, son," Diaz said, looking at his most loyal gang member.

Meanwhile, Liam, Leah, and Chelsea were in a different city. They had settled in a small hotel a few minutes ago and Liam had told Chelsea about everything.

About him, Leah, and their father being assassins, about the mission, about Diaz trying to get revenge. Liam told every single detail to his twin sister. She had been sitting in the bathroom ever since, feeling utterly betrayed. She felt like she couldn't trust anyone at this point, she felt like none of the things that Liam had said was even real. It was hard for her to take it all in.

She really wanted to leave the hotel room for some space but they all knew that that would be way more dangerous. It could only be a matter of time until Diaz finds them again. But she did lock the bathroom door.

Liam sighed in tiredness, not knowing what to do to fix this. He was also heartbroken as to what his former best friend had done. He couldn't believe that Will would do that to him, they had been friends for more than a year.

He didn't even notice Leah sitting down next to him as he was way too deep in thought. She placed a hand on his shoulder in an attempt to comfort him.

"Why did all of this have to happen…?" Liam said quietly.

"We're going to get through this, Liam. We're going to be okay," Leah reassured.

Liam had the urge to smile at her positivity for a moment but didn't have the energy to do so. It was one of the things he loved about her. He was really glad that she was here with him, but also hated it. He's putting her into danger and Diaz also killing Leah was one of the last things he wanted to happen.

"She's probably never going to forgive me, Leah," the brunette said sadly, referring to Chelsea.

"She will. Don't think that way," Leah replied.

There was a moment of silence before Leah broke it when she said his name nervously.

"Hmm?" Liam hummed in response.

"This… may not be the best time but… there's something that I've been hiding for a while, something that I need to tell you."

"Sir, I have the results."

The nervous voice of Anderson made Diaz look up from the bottle of beer in front of him to his assistant. Diaz reached for the results in the IPad but Anderson pulled the IPad back doubtfully.

"I'm not sure if the results are true, though. Maybe there's something wrong-"

"Anderson, give it to me," Diaz demanded, leaving Anderson no choice but to give the IPad to him.

As Diaz studied the screen, his gaze soon landed on Liam's relatives.

Sibling: Chelsea Ashley Miller

Diaz already knew that. His eyes widened when he laid his eyes on the sentence below it.

Mother: Erica Chelsea Reed

It could just be another Erica Reed, but the Erica he knew was an old ex-girlfriend that he had in college.

Father: Jonah William Diaz

What!?

That was his name.

Diaz stared blankly at that exact sentence for a few minutes. It couldn't be. The thought made his stomach turn in disgust as old memories filled his mind.

"Sir?" Anderson asked, but Diaz didn't pay any attention to the nervous assistant.

He remembered that night as clearly as day.

It was 1996 and a few years after he and Erica Reed, the mother of Liam and Chelsea, broke up. He was at a bar hanging out with his old friends. Young and reckless, he was dancing the night away when he saw her.

His ex.

They caught up, him finding out that she was already married. But it didn't stop them one bit.

They were still in love and it happened. It was the biggest mistake that Erica had made in her life, cheating on her husband with her ex-boyfriend. The next morning, she left Diaz with a note.

"Last night was a mistake, do not contact me ever again," the note said. Diaz read the note while still in bed, alone.

A few months later, Erica found out that she was expecting. But the thing is, she wasn't sure who the father was. Her husband, Mason, or her ex-boyfriend, Jonah.

She kept the mystery a secret and decided to not tell anyone as she didn't want to break her family. She never actually found out, she honestly never wanted to. The fact that Mason and Jonah looked very similar didn't make it any better for her. They both had blue eyes and brown hair which both Chelsea and Liam inherited.

A few years later, she cheated on Mason again with a different guy, which caused their divorce. But Jonah never knew that Erica became pregnant after that night.

And now he found out after years. He couldn't believe it. He was a father all this time. And there he was, sat in his office, taking the new shocking information in.

"What is it?" Liam asked, taking her hands in his.

"It's about Diaz…" Leah said slowly.

Liam knew that she was scared and that it was difficult for her to explain. Liam told her that it wasn't necessary that she'd share whatever that she wanted to but she insisted that she needed to.

The words she said next made his heart stop.

"Diaz… had been sexually assaulting me and the girls in the gang for a few months now."

Liam stayed silent in shock. "What!?" He yelled out in surprise.

Leah started crying as Liam hugged her.

"I have evidence but I was too scared to tell the cops in case he does something to me and the girls," Leah cried.

"Shh… it's okay… I'm here," Liam comforted, holding her closely.

He then pulled out of the hug to cup her face in his hands, "I won't let him hurt you again. I promise that I'll protect you no matter what."

Leah smiled and kissed him.
