At night, at the end of the day, in the Bakery, Mrs. Hudson walked into the office where Tara sat doing the accounts and checking the supplies. Mrs. Hudson came and sat across from Tara. She placed a Berliner and cup of tea on the table and pushed them towards Tara.

'Hey, Sweetie' Mrs. Hudson said softly.

Tara looked up from her work, 'Hey, Mrs. Hudson' she smiled.

'You, okay? You seem very lost lately' Mrs. Hudson asked.

Tara sighed and shrugged, 'I just don't know what to do' she admitted.

Mrs. Hudson nodded in understanding, 'Have you been to the doctor yet?' she asked and pushed the Berliner to Tara.

Tara sighed, 'No' she said and took a measly bite of the Berliner.

Mrs. Hudson looked pleased that Tara was finally eating, 'How did Mycroft take the news?' she asked.

Tara huffed, 'Let's just say, he's in Italy trying to avoid me. And I'm glad he is not here' she said and lazily picked at the Berliner, not wanting to have this conversation.

Mrs. Hudson smiled and shook her head, 'You kids, these days try to control everything in your life. Well, it's not possible. Life is an adventure and there are going to be plenty of surprises. But at the end of the day, you'll be fine. Even if this baby wasn't planned, you're still going to love it' she said in an obvious manner and smiled, 'And one day you won't even remember what life was like without this little bean' she said and paused, 'Talk to him. He is an idiot but he loves you too much to walk away' she told Tara.

Tara looked at Mrs. Hudson with a pensive expression, and sighed, 'I will' she said reluctantly. Mrs. Hudson was assuming Tara was keeping the baby and Mycroft was the one with the problem. To some level that was true. Only Tara didn't know if after everything that she had been through, she still wanted a baby.

Mrs. Hudson could see the uncertainty in the younger woman's eyes, 'You can't control the way Mycroft reacts, but you can and should control how you take care of that little bean growing inside of you, no matter what Mycroft thinks. And that starts with going to the doctor as soon as possible' she ordered gently.

Tara sighed and nodded, 'I'll make an appointment right away' she said.

Mrs. Hudson smiled and nodded, 'Good. And, If Mycroft does give you any trouble, you bring that reptile to me right away. I'll straighten him out for you' she said and gave Tara's hand a reassuring squeeze.

Tara chuckled softly, 'Thank you, Mrs. Hudson. That's very kind of you' she said with a genuine smile.

Mrs. Hudson smiled and kissed her head, 'Anything for you, Sweetheart'.

.......

In the morning, Tara rummaged through her closet and poured through racks of clothing, struggling to find clothes that weren't so snug. Even though she barely ate, she was gaining weight by the hour. It wasn't that her clothes didn't fit anymore, she had a few more weeks for that but they were a little snug. Finally, she picked out a chic formal outfit that still fit and, a pair of black high-heeled pumps. She quickly did her makeup and spritzed some perfume on her wrists. She finished off her look with a pair of simple diamond studs and the Cartier watch Mycroft had gifted her. Mrs. Greene had managed to force Tara into choking down a piece of toast and some tea before Thomas drove her to the Counter-Terrorism Squad headquarters. She met with Sir Thomas at the entrance, 'She is with me' he told the guards and they let her in.

As they walked through the large headquarters milling with employees, Tara looked around at the officers, 'Everyone around here looks so...' she said and her voice trailed off.
