Tara woke up to the sound of soft cooing and saw Mycroft sitting on a hospital chair, one leg crossed over the other, their daughter perched on one arm. Their other daughter was sleeping in the hospital bassinet in the corner of the room. He was looking down at his daughter and using his free hand to pick up hers, relishing the feeling of her tiny fingers tightening around the pad of his finger. He smiled down at her and gently stroked the back of her fingers with his thumb. She flailed her arms up in the air, trying to reach her father's face. Mycroft smiled and leaned down so, she could touch his face and grab his nose. 'You got my nose' Mycroft cooed at her. A warm feeling spread inside of him. He was proud. He mentally berated himself, it was ridiculous to feel proud of a newborn baby for doing something that was absolutely normal and natural to her, but he couldn't deny the emotion that was washing over him.

'Good morning' Tara said, slightly surprised he hadn't noticed her sooner.

Mycroft glanced up at her and then back at their daughter, 'Good morning. Do you think we can get a refund on this one? I think she has a manufacturing defect. She doesn't go to sleep' he joked.

Tara chuckled softly, 'Maybe I could help' she suggested and stretched out her arms for her daughter.

Mycroft smiled and got up from the chair. He walked to Tara and placed their daughter in her arms. 'Good morning, Sugar bug' Tara cooed at the little baby in her arms, 'Oh, yeah,... look at you. Look at how big you got' she kissed her baby. It was a great feeling to finally get to hold her daughter. She took her time to observe the slightest details of her face. Her baby cooed and reached her hands up to her face. Tara kissed the little fingers that landed on her lips, 'She has your eyes' she said and smiled at Mycroft.

Mycroft smiled proudly 'Yes, she does. Do you want to hold the other one too?' he asked and looked at the older twin, sleeping in the hospital bassinet.

Tara looked up from the baby to Mycroft and then at the bassinet, 'I don't know. She is sleeping. I don't think it's a good idea to wake up a sleeping baby' she said.

Mycroft considered for a second, 'All they do is sleep. I am sure she can wake up early to meet her mother' he said and walked to the bassinet. He gently cradled the sleeping baby's head with one hand, supporting her small body with the other, he cautiously picked up his daughter, 'Good morning' he whispered into her ears and pressed a few kisses against the side of her head to wake her up. She squirmed a little but didn't wake up, she was still in light sleep. She stirred a little then decided sleep was still in her grasp and settled in Mycroft's arms. Tara watched nervously as Mycroft tried to wake up their daughter by gently stroking her cheek, tickling the back of her feet, and rubbing her back. The little baby finally opened her eyes and looked up at her father. She squirmed and flailed her arms a little until she was comfortable again.

Mycroft placed her in Tara's arms and sat beside her as the mother and daughter interacted, 'Hey, you... I know, I know. Daddy woke you up, didn't he?' she cooed at the sleepy baby.

Mycroft frowned, 'I am sorry!? I am daddy?' asked with a grimace on his face.

Tara looked up from her daughters and nodded, 'Yes. What else would they call their father?' she asked in rhetoric.

Mycroft shrugged, 'I don't know maybe father' he muttered more to himself than to Tara.

Tara rolled her eyes, 'Va te faire foutre. No child of mine is calling their dad 'father'. You are daddy' she told him sternly and turned to their daughters 'Yes, yes he is... He is your daddy' she cooed and winced in pain as she shifted her position.

'Is it bad?' Mycroft asked. Her incision hadn't healed completely, and it still hurt when she moved.

Tara composed herself, 'Hurts like a bitch but I can soldier through it. I should, I was one' she smirked.
