CHAPTER 4

Author's point of view.

As aether sat quietly at the couch where he had first woken up to, he grumbled under his breath as Xiao was treating his injured and bruised feet.

Aether didn't want to pry but he still wants to know why and what they wanted from him, he doesn't like the idea of violence either. The silence was so overwhelming that every tick of the clock makes aethers heart beat fast, he's probably thinking 'is this heart failure..?'

"you seem awfully quiet." Xiao spoke breaking the tension. Aether hummed before lifting his feet off of xiao's hand which was wrapping bandages on his feet earlier. It was weird at first but he didn't protest any longer.

"I want to know why you have to kidnap me and exclusively forcing me to come here without explaining to me about my sister's case." aether straightforwardly spoke, any normal human being would be in a state of panic right now but aether remained calm as Xiao closed his med kit before crossing his arm.

There was another moment of silence when aether took time to examine xiao' s features, he was deliberately taking his time.

The man looked very handsome (if he wasn't such a weirdo), aether thought. He wasn't lying tho, He has never seen anyone this beautiful and handsome at the same time, same goes for the men he met earlier, mister zhongli and 'child' right? (yes he purposely spelled it that way, he was cringing on the name too).

There was a long silence, Xiao had finally broken the silence with a reply---

"master---, master zhongli has taken an interest in you. But he still knows something about your sister and that he once knew an information that might be connected to this certain case of yours.." Xiao was basically half lying but also mixed with a little truth.

If he remembers it right, that case also happened two years ago, and that it was once investigated by 'tartaglia'.

There happens to be three murders that day but it was done 4 hours before another, strangely enough this case was still ongoing till this day, but he still doesn't know if his master was saying the truth.

He was also not lying when he said his master was interested in the little beauty in front of him, but the idea of getting possessive over something is very unlikely of his master.

Earlier that night.

When aether was still unconscious earlier, zhongli was already in front of the gate as if something important was coming to him. Xiao carefully parked his scooter before approaching a large metal gate with a ton of security cams and one speaker on the side.

"you made it in time, Xiao." Xiao was abit hesitant of his masters sudden change of tone that to which he nodded in response, maybe he has something important to tell me?, Xiao thought still carrying the blond in his arms.

"you've done well, you may rest for now" zhongli said as he approached Xiao deliberately carrying the blond out of his arms when aether gripped on xiao's shirt mumbling a few words.

"no... Don't... Please.." aether whispered but was loud enough to be heard by the two men. Xiao slowly looked at the little blond in his arms weeping a bit as he gripped closer for more warmth.

Zhongli was still waiting for Xiao to comply, he was getting impatient when Xiao spoke.

"master, I will take care of him for now. I will deliver him to you after this.." zhongli was surprised as to why his obedient servant was willing to take the little blond with him, zhongli's eye's darken as he crossed his arm.

"you better give him to me tomorrow early in the morning. This is the last time I see you disobey my order... You may go." zhongli said firmly which Xiao no longer questioned before running off inside the huge building infront of him.

Zhongli slowly stared at the running boy before humming, still shock that what he had in mind is that Xiao was never willing and would just dump the blond to him. 'Interesting.. Although you won't be seeing him once he's finally with me, my dear disobedient servant.'

Xiao's mind was a bit clouded and he did feel a bit uneasy not giving aether to his master, he has this feeling that aether needed the protection he needed... Xiao pulled aether close as if he will get taken away from him as the elevator closed slowly.

When did his master became such a possessive person...?

Present.

"after this you should go take a shower, my bathroom is at the left side near the kitchen. I have already prepared clothes for you there." Xiao said before standing up as he walked to the kitchen to make breakfast.

"what? I thought you'd let me go ho-"

"home? No. You still have to talk to master about your sister's missing case no?" xiao cutted as he reached some bacon and egg at his fridge.

Aether was too scared to ask more questions knowing there will probably be an answer for each and he didn't want to embarrass himself any longer.

Aether stood up as he limped his way to the bathroom when xiao spoke once again.

"if you feel any discomfort about your feet, I can ask someone to get you a wheelchair." Xiao was being considerate although he's not really good at it aether looked at him as if he's crazy.

"what? No. That's embrassing! I can handle it perfectly thank you." aether scoffed as he made his way inside the fancy looking bathroom in front of him.

Aether was still in awe since he has never seen such a gallant restroom, he was used to seeing his small little bathroom with a single shower, same goes for public restrooms.

He will probably take his time mesmerizing the fancy restroom but he didn't want to waste time just to sniff every expensive soap he sees.

Such a shame.. Aether mumbled.

(A/N: yes I'm back from updating regularly, but sometimes It will probably took 2 months since I'm very busy, but hey I got my drafts ready tho? Anyways! For those who had seen my recent announcement, I am in need of someone who can help me with this story, someone who I could willingly trust with, although there is no rush I'm open for any willing proof readers out there! This is still undecided but if I ever thought about this again I might ask someone I fully trust.
