"You're Vacation isn't up James. Why are you here."
"You and me need to have a talk concerning your nurses staff."
"Ok, what's the problem."
"Before you put anyone under me, make sure they're properly trained. I will not lose another patient because of some flunky nurse mistake because she read the charts wrong and please if the nurse has a relationship with the patient don't assign them that patient. I will not be held responsible for allowing that nurse to do so, let long harm that patient. If you haven't heard of your most recent incident in this hospital, calling me to clean up the mess and take the blame. Enough is Enough Michael, either you get this system together by the time my vacation is up or I'm gone."
"Well look at you coming in here giving me demands like you own or run this place."
"Never said I did, but I do believe that I could run it a hell of a lot better than you. Do you not realize that if it wasn't for me this hospital wouldn't even be here right now. Do you understand me, it wouldn't be fucking here."
"Alexis calm down, you're too pretty to be upset, remember how you got this position."
"Michael that was one night, other than that I got this crap on my own! Don't even try to play me like that dude for real."
"One night was all I needed, I pulled those extra strings to get you here."
" I didn't ask you to, I would've been fine. So don't pull that I got you here stunt on me cause it will not work, I promise you that. Like I stated get this shit together Michael or you won't have me here for long."
"James you act like we need you."
"Apparently you do, if not you wouldn't be calling me twenty four seven. Remember you gave me six months not two."
"James calm down, I think you're a little stressed. come here, let me assist you."
"Nah look, I'll see you in three months. Have it fixed Michael, I'm not playing with you either I'll be out of here quicker than you can figure out what the hell happened with that crazy ass nurse." I got up going to the door as he got up dang near sprinting to the door.
"I don't think so Alexis. Has anybody told you that you're even more finer when you're pissed off. your passion about making sure things are done properly in this hospital is so fucking sexy, the way you take charge. Damn girl you something lethal." he backed me up in a corner moving some hair out my face.
Just then my phone started ringing, it was Alecia.
"Hey Baby."
"Hey beaui-- what's wrong. Your voice sounds shaky, you ok love?"
"I'm fine baby."
"Look when you leave meet me at the park, I have a surprise for you."
"Ok love I'll finishing up right now, walking out the door of Michael's office." I put her on mute turning to Michael.
"One thing for sure and two things for certain, you try that shit again and I bet you it will not go how you expect it too. Don't think I can't stand my own Michael, there's nothing you can to do to put fear in my heart. If anything, I'll have you scared of me, try me if you want to Michael both of m us will be out of a job and I'll be in jail. Have a nice one Michael."
"Alexis, you still there."
"I'm here baby, leaving the hospital right now."
"I can't wait to see you baby, I miss you so much."
"you seen me this morning."
"I know but after we dropped Kylie to school we went our separate ways."
"Aww baby, I'm bout to turn in now."
"Ok I see you. Looking so good behind that wheel."
"Oh man." I hung up getting out the car as my hand flew over my mouth. I be the simplest things that she do that will always win my heart over. She sat under the tree with a basket, flowers, and a paint set.
"Hey Beautiful."
"Hey Pretty. I thought we could take this time to relax and take your mind off things. I know lately that hospital has been interrupting your vacation. So hand me your phone, let's turn it off and vibe for the time being."
"Ok baby."
"That means not talking about work either, ok?"
"Yes daddy."
"I just want you to know this one thing, you're safe with me. Don't be afraid to let go and just let stuff happen in reality your situation is already handled. I'm saying that because I know something was wrong when you answered the phone, but we will talk about that tonight."
Her attentiveness, how she's looking at me all of it, the concern. I'm for sure bout to give her some tonight but as of now I'm going enjoy this little date with her and cherish from this day forth. It's the sweetest thing that she's done for me, which is the reason why I really feel like my heart is right at home with her...
