Dreams and tasks,
Passions and missions,
Are but two different things
To pursue without confusion.
One, I adore, I yearn to chase
To learn, to earn, to achieve, to gain
To excel and adorn myself in wisdom's bliss
To absorb and adopt like the earth embraces the rain.
The other I wish to accomplish
Not for mine, but others' sake
It is a must, it is a quest -
which unachieved, would set lives at stake.
Self-satisfaction or saviour?
Please myself, or hold out my hand?
With a heavy heart it is that I deduce -
Others matter more.
They who I must sate,
He who I must heal,
She who I must console...
My heart ceases to feel,
My smile serves to conceal...
But no. Let me watch the film roll unreel.
Do, I shall; please, I shall;
My name being 'sunshine', I exist to enthral.
I'll watch the story unfold, wait for my time
I'll wait for the day for the nimbostratus to sublime.
Watch the Sun shine, embrace Her golden light
Watch as She glows, wraps Herself in Her glory
She writes to engross, she writes to let go
Bask in Her warmth, espouse Her story.
