Lotus Heart

Pitter patter, rumble.

Pitter patter, rumble.

Petal-soft heart tatters, tumbles.

Dreams shatter, crumble.

Raindrops falling from the heavens above

Splashing on the ground, loud and resonant

On the thick tar they leave a light pat, a mere shove;

But on the muddy floor, they crash, smashing apart the sediment.

Harsh words slap me as hard

as the rain hits the mud around me

Unsure of who I am, I am marred, I am scarred

But then an angel came along, to set me free.

A sea of wisdom,

A bubble of ebullience,

A lake of lotuses,

A lotus heart,

shimmering with its amethyst brilliance.

An angel in disguise picked me up from the mire

Let my lotus soul bloom into a magical entity to admire.

Enduring the storm, I rose from the muddy floor

I knew my Angry Angel would be here forevermore.

I had dreamt of being a phoenix, soaring across the blue

When I was merely a lark learning to pray.

But the angel shone bright, radiating a Promise

A Promise to care, to never lead me astray.

And that ethereal spirit, a Messenger of Hope

A Seraphim who widened my scope

Pieced back my shredded dreams, rid my strife,

Lifted me onto their shoulders, brought me back to life.

My ray of wisdom light

My rainbow through the storm

Shining eternally bright

A lotus heart, guiding me home.
