Kenya and i were getting ready to go visit evans grave, and we decided we would wait for it to stop raining before going. i still believed that my father was going to try and kill kenya. i was going to stay as close to her as i could, to make sure he couldn't even lay a finger on her.

"hey, mikey. catch." she threw a pack of fags at me. i held it in both hands, then looked up at kenya.

"it's a refill. you told me you were low, remember?" she smiled. i smiled back and tapped on the side of the box for a second.

"thanks, ken. i love you, man. you're my best friend." i hugged her tightly.

"i love you too, you're my best friend too." kenya smiled. i nodded and put the pack in my pocket. kenya grabbed my hand and we left her room. we walked downstairs and walked through the living room to get to the front door.

"hey, stefon! me and mike are going out!" kenya called.

"where are you crazy kids going?" stefon, kenya's brother, walked in from the kitchen and leaned on the wall.

"cemetery" kenya grabbed her keys and put them in her jacket pocket.

"cemetery? why?" stefon put his hands in his jean pockets.

"we're gonna pay our respects to his little brother." kenya explained. stefon nodded and got off of the wall.

"be back before 5:00, that's when mom and dad get home. it's about it's 12 right now so you have awhile. be safe." he walked back into the kitchen.

"we will!" kenya smiled.

"dont get murdered by some psychotic serial murderer who loves to prey on teenagers and kill them." stefon called from the kitchen. kenya laughed.

"doubt we will-"

"ya never know." stefon chuckled.

"ugh fiiiine. we wont. cmon mike." kenya and i left the house and started on our way to hurricane city cemetery. as we walked, kenya lit a cigarette and we passed it between eachother.

once we got there, i bolted to evans grave. it wasn't far at all from the entrance, infact it was pretty close. so my running was unnecessary. next to evans was mums, and next to her was elizabeths. kenya came up behind me and placed a small teddy bear on the dirt infront of evans grave.

"a present for the birthday boy." kenya smiled. evans ghost faded in behind his grave, and he smiled at her.

"thank you!" he giggled. he looked at me and smiled brightly. i smiled at him, although it was hard to look at him. not only did just seeing him make me feel guilty, it was so much worse because his ghost had bandages wrapped around his head and blood running down his face.

"did you bring me anything for my birthday? last year my present wasn't very good." evan giggled. it was hard to not react at his dark joke, but i managed. i pulled out some hero comic books, as well a pack of uno and regular cards, and laid them on the dirt.
