"cassidy, i can't take you home, i have homework to do. go ask someone else please. or just stay here." jack groaned.
"but jack! i don't like it here, and you're my brother! can't you just do your homework at the house?" cassidy punched her brothers arm.
"i could. but i wanna do it now, though. just go ask dad or steven to take you home." jack scooted away from his sister
"i'll tell dad about your boyfriend." cassidy smiled
"so? dad won't care. he has a boyfriend too." jack stuck his tongue out.
"but your boyfriend does crimes." cassidy reminded him.
"dee! leave that out of this. how dave makes his money is his own business." jack snapped.
"yeah! his own drug bu-"
"CASSIDY." jack whisper yelled, hitting his sisters shoulder.
"sorry. sorry. take me home, jack!" cassidy grabbed her brothers hand
"go ask aftons kid. i'm sure he'd be happy to." jack suggested
"really? what if he's a child ki-"
"i doubt he is. he hates his father and hates being compared to him. go ask him, man." jack shoved his sister.
"fine! i will." she quickly ran over to the brunette boy. "hey. you. walk me home."
he didn't answer.
"heeey! walk me hoooome." cassidy shook his arm.
still no answer.
"mr. aftons soooooon? walk me home!" she punched his arm.
again, no answer
"are you dead? walk me home, mr. dead guy!" she sat down in the booth he was sitting in.
again, he's still silent. cassidy groaned and leaned down towards his ear.
"HEY." she said loudly. he quickly spasmed and jumped up, a loud yelp leaving his mouth. he looked down at what had scared him so badly.
a 9, maybe 10, year old girl, with long, black hair which was braided into two pigtails.
"sorry to scare you. i want you to walk me home. i don't like it here, and my brother won't walk me, so i need you to walk me because i'm not walking alone." the girl explained. the brunette blinked tiredly and yawned
"do i have to?" he said, mid yawn.
"pretty pretty please? i'll be your best friend!" the girl gave him puppy eyes. michael blinked lay her.
"cant you ask ya parents or somethin'?" michael rubbed his face
"my dad's boyfriend is working right now, and my dad is at home. my brother won't do it so i need you to do it." the girl explained. michael weighed his options and groaned.
"fine. whas ya dads boyfriends name so i can ask him." michael sighed. the girl smiled brightly and hugged him.
"thank you thank you thank you!!! you're the best! my dads boyfriends name is steven, he works in that office back there. he owns the place!" the girl explained, seeming very proud of her father.
"wait— your steven's daughta? so that means your cassideh kennedeh?" michael smiled. cassidy nodded and smiled brightly. she had silver metal braces all over her teeth.
"yes!! that's me!!" cassidy started shaking her hands happily.
"i know ya fatha. he won't mind if i walk ya home. " michael smiled. cassidy clapped her hands and jumped down from the seat. cassidy jumped onto michaels back, clinging tightly to his blue jean jacket with one hand, and to his hair with the other. she was holding way too tightly onto his hair, and it felt like she was ripping out his hair. he ignored it and walked out of the building.
"direct me to your house, cas." michael stated. cassidy giggled and started to explain where she lived.
-
"thank you, michael!!" cassidy smiled as she jumped down from his back and walked up the stairs to her house.
"it's nothin', cas." michael waved. she knocked on the door, and a man with fluffy looking, short, brown hair opened it. that's peter, michael recalled, stevens boyfriend.
"hello, cassi-bug!" peter held his arms out for her. cassidy happily leaped into his arms and he spun her around.
"thank you for bringing her home, michael." he smiled.
"of course, mr. kennedy." michael smiled back. peter brought cassidy inside, and michael walked back to freddys. once he got back in, jack was drawing on his hands. his badly dyed orange hair was hanging in front of his face, and he had papers sitting around him.
"took ya sista home." michael whispered into his ear. he jumped at the suddenly voice in his ear and laughed.
"thanks, mike." jack smiled, showing off the gap in his teeth.
"and that's also the wrong answer." michael pointed to the math equation on jacks paper
"what? no- i checked it! it can't be-"
"you used the wrong formula. you used the slope formula. this is a slope intercept." michael explained
"what's the difference?" jack looked at him
"you're in highschool, man. you should know this by now." michael walked away. jack mumbled something but it wasn't important, and michael headed to the office. he knocked on the door and waited for an answer.
"come in." henry called. michael opened the door and walked inside. steven looked up at him and waved.
"i walked cassideh home, mr. stevenson." he stated. steven smiled.
"thank you, but you didn't have to. jack could have done it." steven laughed.
"cassideh came up to me because jack wouldn't take her. he had too much homework" michael explained.
"i see. well, thank you." steven smiled. michael smiled back and left the room.
