The walls were a glacial white, causing the room to be a long, open abyss. However some bitter personalities that attended to the hospitalized, bedridden patients made it feel colder than what it was. The window sills and tables on either side of the bed were briming with bouquets of daisies that were blooming in the radiant suns rays that blazed onto each petal.
There she was her face was pasty and pallid and her lips were cracked and dry. Her long, shimmering, beautiful blonde hair was now swept behind her head in a neat, low down pony tail and her face had no emotion, she layed there stiff like a log. The chair next to her contained a body with a thick brown beard and a grey jumper which had a hood covering the greasy hair that was beneath. His head was faced down onto the bed and he held her frail, bony hands in his.
In through the door walked Gwendoline, she stopped, a worried, saddened look covered her face and then she walked over and tapped the hooded figure on the shoulder
"Ashton you have to go home eventually." She whispered into his ear. He slowly woke up smiling until he saw her face frozen in time and then the pain shot back into his eyes.
"I cant leave her here alone." He replied with a husky tone. Gwendoline took his other hand
"She's got me now, go home, besides you stink." She giggled to herself.
He thought about it for a moment and then with hesitation he slowly let go off Daisies hand. He got up still looking at her.
"Tell me if anything happens?." He asked.
"We will" A voice echoed from the door. He turned to see and found Peter looking over at his daughter with a small hope in his eyes.
"Thanks." Peter said to Ashton.
"What do you mean thanks?" Ashton replied.
"Thanks for loving her, the way I love my wife and the way your father loves your mother, your a good man, and I hope that you two will finally be together." He said."thanks for letting me love her." He replied smiling at Peter.
Peter then turned to his bag picked up sanitising wipes and started wiping down the bed side tables.
"Honey, are you sure you have to be doing that right now" Gwendoline asked Peter. Ashton stayed still trying to understand what was happening. Peter looked up from what he was doing and replied
"Darling killing the germs will save her, we have to protect her from them" then without pausing to breath he continued to scrap away at the dirt that wasn't there. Gwendoline looked over at Ashton giggled at him and then looked back over at Daisy. Ashton gave one last look at Daisy, checking to see if she had awaken and then with disappointment flushing through him, he vanished through the door.
