Before Gwendoline and Peter Rivers nearly become virtually infertile they had a little girl named Daisy Rain Rivers. They realized that the land would be left to Peter's cousin William if she wasn't married by the time her father died, so they came up with a plan to have Daisy secure for the rest of her life.
A year before, the Oakes across the other side of the woodland gave birth to a boy named Ashton Harlow Oakes. The Oakes realized that with the Rivers money and land they could expand their name and family, especially as they were loosing more money each year whereas the Rivers were gaining it.
The two old traditional families came to an agreement, that Daisy would marry Ashton. This meant that Ashton would gain control of Old Oake estate under the watchful eye of Daisy and the two estates would become one with the name Old River Oakes estate. A path would be put through the woodland, where a tree would be planted in the middle and Daisy and Ashton's initials would be carved on to it to complete the agreement.
They kept the two together to form a bond; on most days they played together, especially in the woodland where their tree was. Gwendoline told them of the magical story of how destiny had brought them together and how their special circle represented them. The circle became a sanctum to them up until they reached 11...
