When he came back to the hospital, everything seemed slower, time had gone into a motion of unknowingness. He saw Gwendoline's head buried in her hands and her ginger hair flopped down either side of her face. The thought of her doing this gave him chills, this made him wonder what had happened to her. Next to her was Peter, who was looking up at a doctor with a mix of worry and interest on his face. Her dad put on a brave face for Gwendoline, but you could see the drooping under his eyes and the worry that was traveling around both families.

When the doctor left Ashton made his way down the empty hallway that smelt like bleach and disinfectant and watched the patients and there families wonder and prey that they would be OK.

When he got back to Gwendoline and Henry, their faces seemed sickened by some news they had received, Ashton asked
"What did the doctor say?" Peter's face turned white as he looked away from his dauhgter to look at Ashton

"She has a 50% chance, it could go either way." He replied. Their hopfulness was once again worn away by the odds of what could happen. But not Ashton truly elive that's she would find her wag back to him, the way back to all of them.

"The tumour has been taken out but if she doesn't respond soon we will be given the option to" Gwendoline said pausing so she could catch her breath between each sob "shut off het life su...support". She continued.

And that was it. At that point everything became a blur, Ashton didn't care about anything or anyone. He felt as if he was outside his body looking down, it was almost like he couldn't control himself. He could see himself walking down the lifeless halls to the ambulance station outside the hospital.

When he got outside it all rushed back he found himself breathing heavy. He tried to hold himself together for her parents, but he couldn't bear going in there and watching their faces grow more anxious by the minute. He kept telling himself he knew she would get better but inside he still had a small wonder of what if. Out the corner of his eye he saw a figure waving and shouting his name, as the figure got closer he realised it was his mother and father. They were exactly what he wanted, he needed his family, he needed his parents.
