"Morning, Melanie," said Chris and Mackie in chorus as she walked by them in the makeup trailer.

"Morning," said Melanie, her eyebrows scrunched in confusion, but still smiling.  She walked past them and toward Sebastian, who was in full costume and on his phone waiting for her.  He put it down once he heard her voice across the trailer.

"Hi," he said, a smile on his face.

"Hi, Seb," she replied.

"Should we... get started?"

"Let's."

Melanie took thirty minutes to put on his makeup and the few extensions needed for his already grown out hair.  She let him look in the mirror after she was done, like always.

"You're set, Winter."

"Thank you."

She heard someone call Sebastian's name from outside.  He smiled at her, and she waved as he walked out the trailer door.

"That was sweet!" said Macy, rushing over to her.

"You're very invested in my relationship," said Melanie.

"I live vicariously through you," Macy replied.  "But that was cute!  Tell me that wasn't cute, Scarlett."  She looked down to Scarlett Johansson, who was still in the chair, getting her hair straightened by Macy.

"It was cute," smirked Scarlett. "Sebastian got a thing for you?"

"Got a thing for her?  You didn't hear they went on a date?" Macy said.  Scarlett looked up at Melanie.

"A date?" she said, eyebrows raised.

"We only went out for coffee, it wasn't a big —"

"They kissed," Macy told Scarlett.

"Mace!" said Melanie.

"What?" shrugged Macy.

"It's okay," said Scarlett.  "You don't have to give me details if you don't want to."

"No, it's fine.  Yeah, I kissed him.  A couple of times."

"Do you want a second date?"

"I do," said Mel.  "I hope he does."

"I'm sure of it," said Scarlett.  "You two are cute."

Melanie smiled.

--

She went outside to freshen up makeup after the scene was shot.  Sebastian didn't need much of it, though, as this was the scene where he was in the shadow while talking to Pierce.  You only saw his eyes in the light.

"Sebastian!" yelled someone from set.  "Makeup, you done?"

"One sec..." called Mel.  She touched up some powder around Sebastian's eyes.  "Okay, Winter, all set," she smiled.  He smiled back.

--

Once shooting was over, the cast came back into the makeup trailer to have it all taken off.  It was loud in there, as now people were almost done with work, and very happy about it, too.

Mel wanted to work up the courage to ask him.  But she knew it was always going to be a little awkward.  Dating always was.  She didn't really know why she was nervous.  She knew he liked her too.  He had told her that.  He called her pretty.  They kissed.  She could see that he got butterflies every time he saw her.

"Hey, are you doing anything tonight?" she asked him, almost before she realized the words had come out of her mouth.

Sebastian smiled to himself.  Mel was taking out extensions.

"No, why?" he said.

"I was wondering... maybe we could go out to dinner?  A real date?  If you — want — that is."

"That would be great," said Sebastian.  "Where?"

"There's this really good grill near my hotel," said Mel.  "And the lights are dim inside, press won't see you."

"I've heard of that place... Sandstone Grill?"

"Mhm," said Mel.

"I'd love to go with you."

Mel finished up the last of the extensions, and Sebastian was good to go.  He stood up, picked up his couple of things, and turned to face her.

"Great," said Mel.  "Pick me up at seven?  Or your driver, or something, I don't know which one you —"

"I'll drive," said Sebastian.

Melanie grinned.  "Then it's a date."

"A date it is," Seb repeated.
