That night I couldn't sleep so I pet Socks for a really long time . I heard foot steps walk into the room I was in. " you okay" I hear Luke say. Why was he up this late? " yea.... "I say still remanimg where I was sitting. " well you don't seem like it..... ever since you found out about Destiny being pregnant again you have been so distant from everyone..... including me and usually you tell me everything" he says sitting next to me." I know....... and I'm sorry" I say putting on my hoodie and pulling the hood half way on my head like all of the boys did. " why did you put your hood on like that?" He ask" like what" I say " like we do where we pull it on half way." He says pointing at my head. " I don't know....... why are you wearing something that I would wear?" I ask smiling..... " I don't know.... because we all dress alike" he says giggling a little. He was absolutely right.... we did dress like each other . " yea..... I guess.... " I say" hey..... how about we go for a walk?' He says slipping on his converses." Really.... it's like 3 a.m." I say standing up." Yep.... we need to talk" he says putting on a pair of my sweat pants and one of my beanies... " okay.... throw Me a pair and the matching beanie to yours" I say.
We walked for 20 minutes before he asked" did you hate me at first" .... i wait to answer" no...... Luke why would I do that?" I say as I look over to see him messing with his hands like he always does when he is nervous... he fixed his beanie before answering" because I took your best friend and you guys are so distant when before you were super close" . I fix my beanie and stop. I turn to look at him. " Luke........ you have nothing to Do with what happens between me and Destiny. ........ I love you for.you..... not because your famous, not because you are best friends with Ashton and definitely not.because you are married to my best friend...... I loved you when I was 15 sitting in my room listening to every song you guys made, talking to Destiny about how one day I was going to most likely be a doctor if I never met y'all. ... I loved you when it seemed like my dreams were so far away........ Luke. ........ you were my everything and you still are" I say at the brink of tears. Luke didn't say anything at first. " katelen... . I had no idea that I would met one girl that would change my life let alone two" he says smiling at me" Luke...... " " Kate... . " he says" I love you more than words can explain......." I say still looking at him" I love you too" he says as I walk up to hug him.
We stood hugging for a really long time. As we hugged we swayed back and forth and he was humming beside you. I loved that song..... " well do you think we should get back" he says not letting go." Yea. ..... " I say. We stood hugging for a few minutes longer before he let go and put his arm around my shoulder pulling me close to his side " Kate... my best friend....." Luke says" Luke.... my best friend. .." I reply" you wanna hang out today. .. like go out to lunch..... or the mall" he says looking down at me" yea. . ..
