Chapter ten

Madison Gaulden's POV:

"Look at bestie smiling" Jania teased and I laughed, "Where's Kailani?"

"Upstairs with Nisha, this is gonna be my baby's first award show" I smiled, "First but not the last" Jania said and I nodded. "Girl....still can't believe you sent Taylin to live with his father. That's like your son" Nisha walked down the steps with Kailani.

"Yeah but I'm not his real mother so I had to" I shrugged grabbing Kailani. "Mommy look pretty" she smiled. "Thank you baby" I kissed her cheek. "Ok lets get going" Jania said and I nodded. "Y'all have fun" Nisha hugged us. "Nisha you and Kayden can chill here until we get back"

"Really?"

"Yeah girl you know I trust you" I said in a duh tone walking out the door behind Jania while Nisha nodded before shutting and locking the front door.

We got into a black suv with tented windows and I strapped Kailani in her seat.

The driver started the car before pulling out the driveway and we headed to the red carpet. "Are you excited?" Jania asked and I nodded. "Yeah but a little nervous"

"Why?"

"I'm pretty sure Kentrell is gonna be here and this will be my first time seeing him in four months" I explained. "If you see him just walk past. Its not like you have to speak to him" Jania shrugged.

"I do though, he's the father of my child" I sighed, "Yeah well he should've thought about that before he cheated and lied about it" she shrugged pulling out her phone.

These five months have been pretty hard. I've missed Kentrell but he's been a little MIA lately. He hasn't been posting on Instagram except for when Layla posted the gender of their baby which is a boy.

I can't say that I've been doing that bad though. I've started to work a little more and I'm even coming out with my own makeup line. I've gotten to spend a little more me time since Sherhonda moved to Cali and is starting to help me with Kailani.

Once we got to the red carpet Jania and I went our separate ways but our seats are beside each other. "Mrs. Gaulden over here!" A reporter yelled catching me off guard and I walked up to him. "Please call me Madison" I smiled.

"Well...Madison you are looking stunning tonight and so is little miss Kailani" The reporter smiled. "Thank you!"

"So fans are starting to worry about you and Nba Youngboy" he said and I slightly nodded.

"Fans are beginning to worry that you guys just aren't going to get back together, do you have anything to say to that?" He asked and I shook my head no.

"I'm honestly just here to enjoy my time with my daughter and to enjoy all of this amazing talent in here" I smiled before walking off while people took pictures of me and Kailani.

I stopped walking and started to pose for the pictures. "Daddy" Kailani smiled causing me to look over and I saw Kentrell standing a few feet away with Layla as paparazzi took their pictures.

I tried walking past them before getting stopped by someone grabbing my available hand. I turned around and saw it was Kentrell.

Pictures were being taken as Kailani crawled into his arms and she smiled. "Hi daddy" she hugged him tight and all I could do was feel bad. "How you been Lani?"

"I misses you daddy" she pouted and I stood their feeling my heart break. "I've missed you too Lani, do me a favor and listen to mommy okay?"

Kailani nodded before he handed her back to me. "It was good seeing y'all" he said and I nodded. "Mr. and Mrs. Gaulden this way!" Another reporter yelled once Layla walked over smiling, "bae that's us-"

"Actually I'm Mrs. Gaulden" I interrupted, "Anyways it was good seeing you too" I said before walking away and smiling to myself.

The show started an hour later and I was sitting beside Jania and on the other side of me was Polo G and his group of people.

We were watching the show until the host came back on stage with an announcement.

"We've all heard his songs, we've all seen his family and we've all acknowledged the way he cares about his fans. He's known for his powerful lyrics and amazing talent. Coming all the way from Baton Rouge Louisiana to Calabasas California, this journey hasn't been easy for Nba Youngboy other wise known as Kentrell Gaulden" She started and I looked at Nene in confusion.

"I didn't know he was getting an award" I whispered to her. "Me either" she whispered back.

"He's given us something to relate to and he lets his fans know that mistakes are apart of life, Please help me award Nba Youngboy with the Artist of the year award" she said and everyone started clapping while 'Outside today' played and Kentrell walked onto the stage.

Kentrell hugged the host and another girl who was on stage after taking his award and he walked up to the mic.

"Damn" he said looking at the award while the audience laughed and I adjusted Kailani on my lap. "I ain't ever think that I would be standing on this stage accepting this award" he said before taking a pause.

"This really is a dream come true and I just wanna thank everyone who helped me get here. My team, my manager, my friends...nba gang" he laughed causing the audience to laugh.

"Most importantly....my wife" he said and a camera turned on me while I kept my eyes on Kentrell.

"Y'all know me and her ain't on the best terms right now but I really appreciate her. Y'all don't understand, that woman was legit made for me and I would do anything in the world for her" he said and the audience started to clap.

"Last thing, thank you to my fans, I got new music on the way and I really appreciate y'all....ight I'm done" he said as people clapped and cheered before Kentrell was escorted backstage.

"The fact that he still calls you his wife" Jania whispered over to me. "I mean technically I am until he decides to sign them divorce papers I gave him" I whispered back shrugging and she nodded.
