"so, what're your plans for the day?" adonis asked as he took a seat next to harper while i moved around the kitchen getting breakfast ready.

"uh, editing. mostly. i have other stuff i got to get done before work tomorrow."

"are you okay?" adonis raised a brow in his sister direction, not knowing how serious she was about letting harper get to know jack.

"yes donnie."

"if you need a sound board, im here-"

"i know what you're thinking. its not a good idea. but he really wants to try and im tired of not letting him." his look changed, donnie was now concerned she was going to allow jack to have unsupervised time with his niece. they were friends, but he didn't trust anyone around harper.  "im not just handing her off. were dipping our toes in. taking it slow."

"good. no need to jump right in with that anyway." he looked at the time and rushed off to god knows where. leaving the girls to finish their breakfast and clean up the kitchen. afterward they got dressed and went over to see matt. while they edited, harper and felix, matt's son, played until they got tired and took a nap.

"god im so glad we're able to do this and that our kids get along" he said as he returned from
checking on them.

"and that olivia is willing to give up her sunday to watch them." athena added as matt's fiancée walked into the dining room where they had everything laid out.

"i look forward to sunday every week for this exact reason." she responded sitting down next to athena to ask about the band and look at the pictures with her. "so matt told me jack was in town." olivia said, earning a death glare from matt.

"you werent supposed to say anything" athena laughed at how stressed he looked from the mention of the rapper.

"its fine matt, really."

"so?"

"he met harper a few days ago. he wants to try and be in her life as much as possible-" olivia's face resembled that of donnie's this morning. "we agreed on not jumping right into telling her thats he's her dad. she doesnt need that kind of confusion."

"good. im glad he wants to try."

"im sure he would've wanted to try if she told him when she found out." matt said. he'd felt very strongly about this since the day harper was born. he had told athena multiple times throughout her pregnancy that jack needed to know, she obviously didn't listen.

"yes, we know how you feel."

"well i just wish that someone would take it into consideration every once in awhile." he said going back to editing and tuning out the girls' conversation.
