"how was your first shows?" athena asked as jack sat on the couch in the second venue's green room. the smile on his face said all she needed to know.

"they sing my words back to me. thena, they know my songs."

"i'm so proud of you."

"are you guys coming out?"

"i haven't worked it out yet. i have to talk to work, then figure it all out with my parents. its a lot-"

"if you can't its fine. i just don't wanna go two months without you"

"mom. jj?" harper was walking from her room, crayon in hand.
"jj!" she exclaimed upon seeing the man on the phone.

"hi bean" jack answered looking between the little girl and her mom. "how was daycare?"

"good! i made a picture of you."

"you did? can i see it?" harper nodded and ran to grab it, leaving the adults in a fit of laughter at her excitement. she came back and held it up for him. "oh wow, that looks so good."

"thank you." harper smiled, "jj, i miss you"

"i miss you too bean"

"when you come home?"

"soon."

"okay.." harper went back to her toys and left them to continue their conversation.

"jack-" athena was cut off by who she believed to be urban and waited her turn. the boy popped his head in the frame and waved, "hey"

"i gotta go get on the bus. i'll call you later?"

"yeah, okay." athena smiled and hung up, letting out a sigh as her phone dropped on the couch next to her. could they withstand the two months apart? could she handle knowing the girls he'd encounter on tour?
