𝐀𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐘𝐨𝐮 [𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐨𝐰]

when athena got to aria's house, she walked right in. she could hear Luca playing in the living room and a faint conversation in the kitchen.

she stopped by the living room to see harper fast asleep surrounded by her favorite toys and blanket. athena smiled to herself, seeing harper peacefully asleep brought a sense of relief to her. a sense of calmness before entering the kitchen.

"hey" aria said walking up to her younger sister, wrapping her in a hug. "he just showed up, i had no idea he was coming. evan let him in." she spoke before pulling out of the hug.

"hey thena" evan said with an innocent smile, throwing his gaze between her and jack. "hey babe, why don't we give them time to talk." evan said pulling aria away from them and into the living room with harper.

"why are you here?"

"i havent seen aria in a while. i didnt know she was engaged. theres a lot about this family im just out of the loop on." he responded, the ghost of a smile appearing on his face.

"i hate fighting with you. i wish you could just see this from my perspective. i was honestly just looking out for you."

"i hate fighting with you too. we used to be the best of friends. i can see where you're coming from, but you have to see my side too. i have a daughter, that i've never met. shes the funniest, coolest kid that i've had no parts of it." athena knew what he meant, she didn't want to know how it felt to not know harper.

"if its what you want, then i wont be the one to stand in the way." her words made the smile on his face grow, "but jack, can we ease her into knowing you're her dad?" he nodded, whatever it took for him to be able to know harper, he was in.

"you wanna go hangout in the living room?" athena asked, noticing him fidget with his fingers. the conversation was wrecking his anxiety.

"i have the studio booked for tonight. but can i come over tomorrow? i dont have plans."

"of course."

jack walked around to meet athena, wrapping her in a hug. they both enjoyed the others comfort and didn't feel the urgency to break away. until they heard footsteps coming toward them and immediately jumped apart like they were doing something wrong.

"everything okay in here? y'all got quiet and i had to make sure no one was murdered." aria said coming in and going to the pantry for snacks. judging by the ones she picked up, harper was awake.

"yeah, all good." athena responded.

"do you want to stay? we're getting ready to watch the little mermaid." aria asked jack, who looked disappointed he had to leave.

"he had plans-" athena began.

"i can stay." he finished, not wanting to miss anymore time with harper than he already had. athena smiled to herself as they made their way into the living room. harper immediately jumped into athena's lap while jack gave room when he sat next to her.
