She smiled the best reaffirming smile she could to Ethan,
knowing that she was appeasing him. She knew what he
wanted to hear. She knew him.
Ethan smiled back, feeling at once both relieved to have the
conversation over and dealt with and excited that he would
be starting a new adventure, with a new companion.
He didn't know exactly what it was that made him feel like
this would be an adventure. Perhaps it was just in getting to
know the new coach. Listening and sharing stories of
experiences, ideas and interests were all worlds of
fascination for Ethan. Yes, that has to be it . It's just the
simple camaraderie of a new comrade . He stood and
cleared his dishes.
