{ Holland }

I love to be able to sleep in. I love sleeping in even more when Ashton decides to as well.

Ashton decided he was going to sleep in this morning so I was very happy as I slowly woke and he was still sound asleep with his head on my chest and his arms wrapped around my waist.

I ran my fingers through Ashton's hair and grabbed my phone off the side table. When I saw the time, I knew our sleep in had to end. We had to head up to the lake this weekend. This would be our last weekend going to the lake for a while. Next weekend we have Luke's birthday, then the following week, I'm due to start getting school stuff prepared.

"Bub" I whispered, continuing to run my fingers through his curly locks, "Bubs we need to get up now"

"Five more minutes" Ashton whined, tucking his face into my chest more,

"I'm sorry Ash but we really do need to get up. It's almost noon"

That made Ashton's eyes open wide,

"We slept that long?" he questioned, lighting rolling onto his back,

"I mean, we were up late last night" I smirked, recalling last nights events,

"You were the one begging for another round" Ashton joked then leaned over and kissed me,

"Well you wanted round three and four"

Ashton rolled his eyes and sat up,

"Let's wake up some then get dressed and grab lunch on the road?" he questioned, pulling my body to him,

"Mhm" I smiled, "Sounds good"

The drive up to the lake was so nice. We didn't hit any traffic or stops so we got there fairly quickly.

Ashton parked to the side of the drive and hopped out of the truck, running around and opening my door,

"Thank you" I smiled and pecked his lips. Ashton kissed back then opened the back door and grabbed our duffle bag while I grabbed my purse and Ashton's laptop. He brings that thing everywhere in case he thinks of something for songs and such. Plus he's on 5sos email duty since they don't have management right now.

We walked into the house and saw my grandparents immediately. They were the only ones here so far. My parents should be here soon. My sister isn't coming though because she had made plans with her friends apparently,

"Hi sweetheart" my grandma hugged me tight then hugged Ashton,

"Someone got to work?" My grandpa then questioned seeing the MacBook in my arms,

"I'm in charge of 5sos emails because we currently don't have management" Ashton spoke,

"I got ya" my grandpa laughed, "Go get settled you two"

Ashton and I smiled and headed down the hallway to our room. Ashton sat our bag down while I sat what was in my hands on the bed,

"When are parents getting here?" Ashton questioned as he sat his wallet and car keys on the dresser,

"Not sure" I shrugged as we headed towards the kitchen.

Both my grandparents were in the kitchen preparing food. Tonight is the lake neighborhood's big barbecue. All the families make a ton of food for it too. We didn't do it last year because we were in the high of Covid,

"What times the barbecue?" I asked,

"We're starting around six. It's on our street this year so that's good"

My parents got to the lake just in time for us to head outside for the barbecue.

Ashton and I walked around together, both of us nursing the beers we held in our hands. Although Ashton has given up alcohol, he will drink every now and then, but he will only drink two max.

"Holland!" I heard one of my neighbors yell. I turned to the voice and saw the lady from two houses down, Miss Edith, running to me and giving me a hug right away,

"I haven't seen you in so long hun! Oh, how are you? Oh, and who's this cutie?" She smiled at Ashton,

"This is my fiancé, Ashton" I smiled, taking Ashton's free hand in mine,

"Oh, it's so nice to meet you Ashton. I'm Edith"

"Wonderful to meet you ma'am" Ashton smiled,

"How have you been Miss Edith? I haven't seen you in a while" I asked. I have always loved Miss Edith. She was around my grandma's age and treated me as if I was her own grandchild,

"I'm doing good. I haven't been here for a good while. My daughter and her husband are doctors so I was out in Ohio with them to help take care of the kiddos" she told us, "So when are you two getting married?"

"May. Don't worry, you're getting an invitation. Ashton and I just haven't gotten that far yet. We just found a venue not long ago" I spoke,

"I'm so happy for you" she smiled then heard her name, "I must go"

Once she walked away, Ashton and I grabbed some food then found a place to sit on the curb to eat.

The barbecue ended and Ashton and I were sitting around a bonfire with my grandparents and my parents,

"Oh so, we bought a lot and we're going to build a house" I informed everyone,

"Where's it at?" My dad asked,

"It's right outside LA, but still close enough to get to the city and work. It's in a nice neighborhood" Ashton smiled,

"When are you going to start building?" My grandpa asked,

"Soon. We submitted everything to the builder. So when they get all the permits it's going to be started" I grinned,

"That's exciting" my mom smiled, "I thought you guys weren't moving until later on?"

"Well, we have neighbor issues that are getting out of hand" Ashton sighed,

"We have peeping Tom's. And one of our neighbors is a drug dealer and does his deals in front of our house" I finished,

"I cannot believe you're still living there" my dad shook his head,

"That's why we're moving" Ashton defended, "With the situation, I do not want to leave Holland there alone. We don't know what they are capable of so that's why we're moving. That way, we know that in the future, our kids will be safe and so will we. When I go on tour, and Holland's home, I want her safe"

"Kids?" my grandpa quirked an eyebrow,

"In the future and after we're married" I confirmed.

Ashton and I called it a night and headed to bed. As soon as we entered the room, Ashton was stripped down to shorts and climbing under the covers. I changed into one of his shirts then climbed in next to him.

I let out a sigh and curled into his side, letting my head lay on his shoulder,

"What's wrong honey?" Ashton asked, letting his arms wrap around me and kissing my head,

"I feel like things are getting worse with my parents and stuff. I mean, everything was fine then I grew up and started making my own decisions. Now they judge everything we do and it's just frustrating"

I felt Ashton take in a breath,

"I know it's difficult and I understand what you're saying, but there's not much we can do at this point. They have to accept that you're grown up. You make your own decisions. It just takes time"

I nodded and closed my eyes,

"I just wish they'd already accept it"
