I slowly awoke with a body laying on me and kisses being pressed all over my face. I couldn't help but let a giggle escape.
"Happy birthday" Ashton sang in my ear followed by more kisses.
I popped my eyes open, coming face to face with the curly-headed man,
"Good morning babe" I grinned, "And thank you"
"So, I was thinking that today we get breakfast then I'm taking you shopping because I know you've been saying you need new clothes" Ashton spoke,
"That sounds good. You're lucky I'm jobless now or else I'd be working" I told him.
About a month ago, I got fired from teaching. A parent sent the school a video of me sitting in a bar with Ashton and our friends. I was drinking but I wasn't out of control or wild. I wasn't even dressed inappropriately. I was having one alcoholic drink- the rest water. But the school decided to fire me because of it. So now I'm without a job.
The first few days I was a mess- well I still am but I just don't show it. I don't want to worry Ashton. My dream, since I was a kid, was to be a teacher, and I lost that. I could go to another school, but before they hire me, they'll talk to my old school about why I was fired. So, most likely, I won't get the job. I've been struggling, but Ashton's been keeping me busy to keep my mind off it. I know I wasn't happy teaching anymore but I was remembering why I used to love it. I loved it because I was helping kids learn and grow. Plus I love my kids this year and it broke my heart to tell them I wasn't going to be their teacher anymore.
"Yeah I know" Ashton sighed, "But that means you get the whole day with me"
"Aren't I lucky" I teased. Ashton giggled and pressed a kiss to my lips,
"I love you" he grinned,
"I love you" I smiled back as he hopped off the bed,
"Now get ready for our fun day!" he chanted and ran into the bathroom, making me laugh and shake my head.
I grabbed my phone off the side table, in absolutely no rush to get out of bed yet. As I grabbed it, I saw Ashton had tagged me in a post. I couldn't help but grin and click on it:
