My alarm went off right on time: 5:30 in the morning. I went to roll over to turn it off, but Ashton's arms wrapped around me tighter, preventing me from moving,

"Bub, I need to get up. It's the first day of school" I sighed,

"No" he mumbled, "Call in sick"

"I can't do that baby. Please let go"

Ashton huffed but let go of me, allowing me to roll over and grab my phone, silencing the alarm,

"It's kind of dumb that the first day is a Friday" Ashton muttered as I slowly got up,

"I know but that's what the school district decided" I sighed. He huffed again, making me turn around. I laughed and leaned down, pecking his pouty lips.

I continued to let him lay there as I grabbed some clothes and headed into our bathroom to get ready that way he could go back to sleep.

I finished up getting ready and left the bathroom, seeing Ashton wasn't in bed. I grabbed my phone and headed into the main area of the house where Ashton was making himself coffee,

"You could've gone back to sleep babe" I spoke as I walked in and wrapped my arms around his torso,

"I know" he shrugged. I shook my head and grabbed my cup from the cabinet and walked over to the fridge, grabbing my iced coffee and creamer out. I put my coffee together then grabbed the lunch I pre-made last night. I grabbed the rest of my stuff and Ashton walked with me out to my car,

"Have a good day. I love you" he smiled,

"I love you too. I'll be home around 4:30"

He nodded and kissed my lips before stepping back and letting me leave.

I unlocked my classroom door and sat all my stuff on my desk. I grabbed the bag of candy I bought and put a couple pieces on each desk then connected to my smart board and put up the welcome slide I made.

Soon all the kids were coming in with their parents and I already had a few criers.

Once the parents left and the kids stopped crying, I got them all quiet as I stood in the front of the room,

"Good morning everyone!" I spoke super cheery, "I'm Miss Evans and I'm going to be your teacher for kindergarten. Do you guys know what we're gonna learn this year?"

I looked around and a couple kids had their hands up,

"Yes Blake" I chose looking at the name on the desk,

"Numbers!"

"Yes! What else?" I looked around again, "Lilly"

"Letters!"

"Amazing" I grinned, "Does anyone know of anything else?"

Nobody answered,

"We're also going to learn how to read and write" I grinned, "Now we're going to talk about a few rules. My first rule is that we always listen. The second rule is we don't interrupt when someone is speaking. If you'd like to speak, raise your hand until I say your name. We can only interrupt if you are sick, bleeding, or there's an emergency"

All the kiddos nodded,

"So what's the first rule?" I asked,

"Listen!" They all spoke together,

"And what's the second rule?"

"Don't interrupt!"

"And when's the time we can interrupt?"

"Bleeding. Sick. Emergency"

"Good job everyone. Now I have some coloring sheets on your table and some crayons. We're gonna color for a little bit and you all can talk to the people you're sitting with"

They all got into the activity and I walked around and talked to the kids individually.

****

After lunch and recess all the kids came back and took a seat at their desk and I went back to the front of the room,

"So I know I asked you all questions. Do you all have any questions for me?" I asked, watching little hands pop up immediately, "AJ"

"How old are you?"

I laughed a little,

"I'm 23" I smiled, "Okay, Maddie"

"Do you have a crush?"

All the kids started laughing and I did too. They're five years old and already nosy,

"I do have a crush. I have a crush on my fiancé. Do you know what that means?" I spoke watching them shake their heads, "It means we're going to get married"

"Do you have a ring?" A little boy, Alex, spoke up,

"I do" I laughed and held my hand up,

"Do you got pictures?" The girl, Delilah, asked. I laughed and nodded and headed over to my computer and pulled up a photo of Ashton and I are for them,

"Is he a teacher too?" They asked next,

"No" I laughed, "He's a rockstar. He plays the drums in a band"

"What's his name?"

"Ashton. But if he ever comes to visit us we're going to call him Mr. Ashton" I told them. Ashton's visited a class before and did not like 'Mr. Irwin' so we go with 'Mr. Ashton' now,

"When is he going to come?"

"I don't know. Maybe sometime soon and he can read us a story"

All the kids nodded.

I trudged into the house and could instantly smell whatever Ashton was making for dinner. I dropped my stuff by the door then ventured into the kitchen. Ashton was at the stove with a dish towel over his shoulder and cooking some veggies in a pan,

"Hi honey" he glanced at me with a smile, "How was today?"

"It was good" I grinned and pecked his lips before sitting at the island, "The kids asked me if I had a crush then got nosy. I showed them a picture of us and promised them you'd come and read a story one time"

"I can definitely do that" he laughed,

"Whatcha making?" I questioned,

"I'm baking some chicken in the oven, then I'm doing veggies and some rice. It'll be ready in a second. The veggies is the last thing"

I nodded and got up and grabbed us a couple of plates out then grabbed two wine glasses because for some reason I was really wanting wine,

"It's 4:30" Ashton laughed,

"Oh well" I shrugged, "Do you want some or not?"

"I do" he laughed and put our food on the plates as I poured us two glasses and we made our way to the table.

Before we started eating, we grabbed our glasses,

"To the first day of school" Ashton cheesed,

"To the first day of school"
