chapter 6: playing it casual

Dan's pov:

"It's almost 6 o'clock Phil I'm going to just say hello to our neighbor and come back before I make my self look like an idiot." I tell Phil who's too busy playing Mario Cart. He really wants to get better but he was the one who turned down my offer to teach him better.

Maybe she's not going to be like our last neighbor Gareth he was rude,sloppy, but very good at Halo. Anyways I hope we atleast have somethings in common.

Just before I knock on the door I hear something I never thought I would heard here in our building.

Panic station by muse is playing.

Well I can tell we're starting it off great. I knock on the door waiting for a response.

What will I say hey? HELLO? Hi? Or simply Hello welcome to our building I like your music taste ok..bye.

Yup definitely the last one. I was so nervous I turned around and fixed my hair but before I could I hear

"Heyy."

I turn around to find my new neighbor wrapped in a towel. Couldn't I have come at a better time?

Her being almost naked didn't take my eyes away from her facial features. Her hair was up so i didn't see if it was as crazy as my hobbit hair or straight like Phils.

For a girl I was surprised she wasn't wearing any make up. Noticing that I  had been staring a bit too much and that my face started to heat up I cleared my throat and said

"Hello I'm Dan welcome to our apartment...err I mean our building." I say with my hand out.

Already so embarrassed I heard a small laugh from her ready to have her say horrible things me like "You're pathetic or you're such a loser for thinking you could be slick." Almost like my impressions of Becky and Jessica.

But instead she said ,"Dan I watch your videos I know who you are but dont worry I'm not as crazy as you think I am. And I would love to shake your hand but...my hands are kind of full right now." She says as she motions to her towel blusing.

Was she actually blushing? Did I make her blush? She watches my videos? Who would have known? Well she knows who I am so maybe this could go well.

"Oh sorry I'm Hayley. Hayley Ross I'm sorry this isn't the best way to meet. So why don't we give this another try at 7:15 I'll order pizza and you can bring desert. Oh wait Phil lives with you! Hey what the hell bring him too. I was going to order pizza anyway but I don't know the number." Hayley said embarrassed.

"Uhh...ohh yea sure! By the way your music taste is amazing." I say with a smile and a wink. Whoa where did all the confidence come from Dan?

"Thanks! Where I come from my friends  and I are the only people who actually know them. And their new album is out I hear its great maybe I'll buy you a copy when I go buy it." Hayley says kindly.

"I've only come to say hello and you're here wanting to buy me the new Muse album! You're such an amazing person and I've only just met you." Shit did I say the last part put loud?!

As her face slowly got redder I look closely at her arm and notice a moon tatoo on her wrist maybe I'll ask her about it when I come over. If she feels comfortable enough to share her story with me.

Oh god what will I wear? Will she like it? Phil is also coming maybe he can help. Dan this isnt a date don't over react. Whoow WHAT Dan you can't possibly like her. Oh but I can I mean she's gorgeous and I bet her personality is even better.

"Dan I'm afraid to ask you what you're thinking about because you look awfully happy. Anyways I'm going to take a quick shower and I'll be back...Actually you'll be back." Hayley said with a smile as she gives me a hug and closes the door. Her hug was warm and her smell was so enchanting. I'm going to tell Phil all about her but...
