Love Finds a Way

chapter 25: Good days

Hayley's pov:

The next morning I woke and got a few things together I texted Nikki to tell her not to worry about breakfast, we'd get some on the way to the fair.

I did my normal routine: washed my face, put on a random black shirt, some shorts to go along with the shirt, and not matching socks. I checked my phone for any notifications, mostly Twitter, so I decided to look at my mentions.

Dansfringe: wonder if @crazyhayley and @danisnotonfire will ever collab

Within minutes the fandom got #crazydan trending along with ideas. I looked through some that made me laugh and favorited the ones I loved. When Dan got downstairs I told him about the ideas they had given me, hesitantly agreeing we scheduled to film the video when we came back from the fair. Maybe things won't be all that bad today.

"Hey you ready?" Dan stepped out of the bathroom and into the door frame. I smiled as I tied my shoelaces ,"yeah just looking forward to today." I really was: rides, games, a view by the ocean was all I need.

"Then let's get going!" He said excitedly as he walked out the door.

"Nikki! Phil! Dan and I will be waiting in the car!" I yelled to her
as I walked down the stairs and out the front door. I got my keys,
wallet, and phone in hand as I closed the door behind me. I got in the car and turned on the radio to "Photograph" by Ed Sheeran.

"I like this song. Just the lyrics make so much sense." Dan said out
loud whilst looking out the window, making me smile in response.

"I agree. I like how he kinda explains how even after he and his lover at that time broke up he hopes to always be a memory." He nodded slowly and smiled agreeing with me.

"We'll meet right here at seven then we can drive somewhere and get food. Call if anything happens okay?" I tell Nikki and Phil as they're waiting patiently to enter the fair. They nod and smile as they walked in and out of my sight.

"Why don't we try some games out?" I nod as we walked over to a
basketball game. I failed miserably multiple times until Dan stepped in and finally won a prize. "Who knew being tall had its perks?"

"Don't get too cocky now Howell." I warn.

He laughs and hands me the teddy he won. "How cliché. Maybe I should just keep it." He pulls it to his chest and hugs it. I pout making him laugh as he pulls me away to another game.

After a few games and many fails we decided to just walk around and find a place to rest. "Here." I pulled him near a bench along the ocean view. He tucked away his phone into his pocket as he sat.

"Let's play a a game."

"I want to play a game." He repeated in what seemed a jigsaw voice making me laugh.

"I ask then you ask a question."

"Alright I'll start. Books or movies?"

"Books by far! I mean have you seen the movies? They always have something missing or they miss a big part of the book in the movie. Like in Harry Potter did you know in the first movie they didn't show the game of Hufflepuff against Gryffindor-Am I rambling too much?"

"No." He shook his head as he laughed

"Alright," I said laughing "Favorite movie series?"

"The Lord of The Rings." He answered confidently.

"Nerd." I murmured.

"I heard that. If you could be in any universe which one would it be?"

"Middle Earth. I'm practically a hobbit." He laughed as he scooted
closer putting an arm around my shoulder. I laid my head on his
shoulder.

"Do your ever wonder what's out there?" I said staring out into the
now dark sky surrounded with stars. There could be planets, even more galaxies and I'm nothing on this tiny Galaxy.

"I have but I don't want to have an existential crisis today. Thank
you very much." I smiled as looked out. "You cold? You feel a bit
cold. Would you like my sweater?" My heart welled at his question.

"Please." Jake would never give me his sweater after every date I
would always end up sick. He handed me his sweater and wrapped me up in his warm hoodie. I took in his scent and smiled to myself as I
hugged him closed.

"It's been a good day. Why don't we ride the Ferris wheel as one last ride for today? By the time it's over it'll be close to seven." I
nodded and stood up walking towards the Ferris wheel arm locked with Dans.

"Oh my god! It's you! Hayley can I have a picture please?" I turned
around to a twelve year old girl wearing one of my mercy shirts
approaching me with her hand over her chest. Is she having a heart attack?

"Sure. Just please don't pass out." She smiled as she approached me. I unlocked my arm from Dan leaving him standing in the crowd. Is hot him a small smile and he gave me one in return signaling he was okay.

"What's your name?" I ask as she's getting something out of her bag.

"My names Sophia. Can we take a picture?" She asks her voice shaking. I smile as I take her phone and take a few silly pictures then a normal one with me smiling. I hugged her and heard he quietly crying. I pulled away and wiped her tears.

"You okay?" I ask as she sniffles.

"Yeah. It's just that you've helped me through so much and to meet
you- I - this is unbelievable. I just want to say Thank you." She said as she whipped her eyes.

I pulled her into another hug and kissed her head. "No thank you
Sophia. For watching my videos and for sticking by me. I love you. Don't forget that okay? Now have a good day and have fun." I pat her back as she smiles still crying.

"Can we make a small video for Instagram?" I smile as she takes out her phone.

"Hi I'm Hayley! And I just met Sophia! Make sure to follow her because she is amazing!" She smiles and hugs me again before handing me a small blue teddy bear with writing all over it. "Thank you. What's your Twitter so I can follow you?"

"Soph_ia." I followed her and hugged her again. "Thank you again. Sorry to interrupt your date" she says before walking away, leaving me smiling.

We were at the top of the Ferris wheel when Nikki texted me. "Look I think I can see a shark from here."

I didn't like looking over the edge of things so I just looked up a
the sky instead. "No thanks I like looking at the stars. They are
almost as pretty as you."

"Are you scared of heights?" He asked laughing.

"A fear of heights is illogical, a fear of falling on the other hand
is prudent and evolutionary." I said remembering the lines from The Big Bang Theory. Dan laughed as he wrapped an arm around me and pulled me closer to the edge. I started to panic as I got closer to the railing.

"Hey. It's okay I got you. I won't let you fall. Look safe." He
wrapped his arms around me making me feel just a little bit safe. I relaxed but still kept my distance from the railing. Dan pulled out his phone and took a selfie pointing to what I think was the ocean while giving a thumbs up. I laughed as I watched him take what seemed millions of selfies. He gestured for me to sit close to him, and I did, so we could take a picture. We took a few pictures smiling then a few silly ones.

After the Ferris wheel went back down we headed to the car hands intertwined and arms full of stuffed animals. We got in the car and began our way home. We stopped for some food and got some pizza. Dan helped me get the stuffed animals up to my room dumping them on the bed.

"Let's watch The House of Wax." I suggested as I turned on the tv.

"Sure I've never seen it." He walked into the bathroom and later came out with his baggy pajama pants on and laid in bed lazily looking
through Tumblr. I changed in the bathroom washed my face then climbed into bed snuggling into Dan's side. After half an hour Dan had fallen asleep and it was about time I did too. I switched off the Tv and faced my back to Dan trying to fall asleep.

I kept moving trying to find a comfortable place for me to lay in but I couldn't find one, so I decided to get a glass of water. I got out of bed dumping my side of the blanket on Dan and silently tried to go down the stairs, but as I stepped on the floor there was a loud knock at the door.
