I was starving, because my appetite for revenge didn’t go well. Lunch seemed like the perfect solution.
For the first time I met Trevor’s friends; because of yesterday’s episode, I didn’t get to. They were nice, but I soon forgot their names. I listened to their conversations of music, people the hated, and how terrible the chicken nuggets were.
“This stuff is disgusting.” Some guy—Joey?—was complaining about the school lunch. I’m glad I brought my own.
Trevor nudge me. “You alright?” He said low enough that no one would hear. “Do you not like them?”
“No, no—“ I froze mid sentence. A sudden burning sensation attacked my throat. It was the most torturous pain I have ever experienced. Something on my face told the table something was wrong. “Wa—water!” I coughed, and someone handed me a bottle. I was rushing to get the cap off, and it started spilling everywhere. By the time I got some it my mouth, I was pretty soaked. But it didn’t help.
“I ca-can’t breah-breath.” I stuttered. I held my neck in my hands and just hopped it would subside. Trevor slapped my back; thinking it would help.
Then it did. I took the biggest gasp of air and closed my eyes. Once I stopped panting, I looked up to see worried eyes on me. I apologized. “I’m so sorry; I have no idea what just happened.”
“I do.” Trevor muttered, his head turned around; lips flattened into a straight line. I twisted around to follow his gaze, and there was Ryan acrossed the cafeteria; holding some slut in his arms. He looked extremely alarmed.
“Was he…kissing her?” I gasped. Trevor didn’t say anything; he only glared at Ryan and turned back to his food. I gave Ryan my own glare.
I turned back, and immediately spotted a fork on one of Trevor’s friend’s tray. “Can I see that?”
When she handed it over, I stabbed myself with it. Maybe only I could hear it, but I swear I heard Ryan yelp. I turned around and confirmed my suspicions; he was rubbing his wrist and staring my way. I was glad to see the chick was a couple feet away. I was only giving him a taste of his own medicine.
Ryan P.O.V.
I’m never trusting Parker again.
I go into lunch, and I see her. Lauren’s sweet sent filled my nose, and I wanted to go to her, but after the fight we just had, I couldn’t. I was raking my brain (which I seem to do often when the subject is her) for a plan. Now that I know she doesn’t want me, what the fuck do I do?!?
I told my beta about her; I just had to. And he gave me idea to make her jealous. Worst mistake I could have made.
So I take the common girl, Amber, who will do anything you want without questions, and just ask her to kiss me. I was thinking that maybe Lauren would notice and get mad and…that was where I was wrong.
The first thing I was able to notice was my own pain; the familiar feeling of lips on mine was almost…stinging. I ignored it, until I smelled Lauren’s distress. Her choking.
I pushed Amber a few feet away and she shrugged. Lauren and her friend Trevor turned in their seats and gave me dirty looks. Lauren’s face and hair was wet, which confused me. Then I felt pressure on my wrist, like someone had cut me, but it was her. I was more upset that she hurt herself then her intentions to her me.
“Damn it! DamnitDamnitDamnitDamnitDamnit!!” I cursed.
“Sorry, bro. I had no idea.” Parker looked scared, and if he didn’t, I probably would have decked him.
“Whatever.” I muttered, and left the lunch room.
Lauren’s P.O.V.
“Can you take me hoooome??” I whined to Trevor, who refused to listen.
“It’s the last period of the day! You can make it!” Trevor groaned. I really didn’t want to be here because (one) Ryan is in this class and (two) I picked out gym shorts too small for my liking right now.
I muttered curses and went into the girl’s locker room. Without paying attention to the other girls, I changed into some shorts, instead of my jeans. I heard tons of talk about how all the boys looked so hot in their gym clothes—bla, bla, bla, useless babbling.
The coach called us out and I stood by Trevor. And guess what we happen to be playing? Dodge ball! The game I suck at most in the world! Hurray!
“You’re on your own.” Trevor whispered as he went over to one of the guy’s teams. It was Ryan and another dude. Ryan’s eyes flickered back and forth of me, but I couldn’t read his mind. Wait—he better not pick me!
“Whoa, whoa, Trevor and I are a package deal.” I butted in on the other team leader.
“Really?” He questioned with an eyebrow raised. I begged him with my eyes and he gestured over.
“Baby.” Trevor said in my ear.
“Am not.” I elbowed him back.
Then the game began.
