On doctors orders, I had to spend the next couple days healing.  Shifter or not, my body still had an amazing immune system and I was as good as new in a blink.  But in that time, I accomplished a lot.  I spent a little time with Trevor while Ryan did some stuff with business, and our friendship was healthy again.  I’m grateful he had come over to check on me and save me.

I talked with Blake and Martha.  Blake just…set things straight with me.  He was a better father to me then my own growing up, so we made up.  We’re ok now.

Martha just flipped out over me.  She, apparently, didn’t know her son had a mate till the whole “coma” incident started, and we just had a lot to catch up on.  I tried not to freak out over her grandkids expectation.  That women…could scare you, sometimes.

My parents tried to talk to me several times.  I denied them.  Now that I was “perfect” they suddenly wanted to be in my life.  No can do.  They don’t deserve a second chance, like my little Ryan did.

Yeah…we are close now.  I haven’t let him mark nor mate me, because—let’s face it—I’m kind of hesitating about it.  I know I like him, and we’ve been over it, but eternally spending your life with someone?  It’s not something to take lightly.

Schools almost over, and even though I’ve missed a week, it doesn’t really matter.  Half the teachers are wolves and Ryan is there Alpha, so I’ll amazingly pass.  I guess it’s just a nice perk.

Today the weather was really warm, so Ryan invited some of the pack for a cook out at the pack house.  They have a pool, which means everyone will be swimming.  Which means I needed a suit.  Which means Martha attacked me.

Early this morning, I woke up to an empty bed.  I sat up to see Ryan and his mother having a hushed argument.  They noticed me and I sheepishly smiled and flattened out my shirt.

                “Mom…please!”  Ryan demand.

“Don’t please me!  You may be the Alpha, but I am your mother, which means I can kill everything you love!  I just want to take the damn girl shopping, not to a strip club!”  She put her hands on her hips and tapped her foot.

                Ryan sighed.

I pulled the sheets over my legs.  “Come on, Ryan.”  I walked over to him and clung to his arm.  “She threatened to kill me.  It will be fun.  I’ll be safe.”

He thought about it.  “Ok…just be back soon.”

I smiled and kissed him on the cheek, which he purred too.  “I’ll be dressed and out soon.”  I told Martha and closed the door.  Ryan pulled me into a hug.  I knew he didn’t wanted to go.  Such an overprotective bastard.

Frankly, I didn’t want to go either; I was in the arms of a shirtless guy who does nothing but care about me!  But, it was a pool party…so he’ll be shirtless…and wet…

“How do I know you’re thinking dirty thoughts about me?”  Ryan asked and chuckled to himself.

“Talent.”  I shrugged, why deny it?  “Maybe they’ll come true, later.”

“No…I don’t like that one either.”  I said, honestly evaluating the swim suit Martha was holding up.  It was a Hawaiian floral design…eww.  Martha frowned, and tried to imagine herself wearing it.  “Can I try one on?”  I had one swimsuit in my shopping bag, and I’m thinking it will work.
